Obama continued on income inequality, saying, “History shows that societies which tolerate vast differences in wealth feed resentments and reduce solidarity and actually grow more slowly. And when economic power is concentrated in the hands of the few, history also shows that political power is sure to follow and that dynamic eats away at democracy.”

After the speech calling for rich people to get smaller houses, Obama traveled back to America and to his $8.1 million eight-bedroom, nine-and-a-half bathroom mansion in one of the wealthiest neighborhoods in the world.

Obama could re-distribute all his wealth to the poor voluntarily and lead by example, why doesn't he? Is Obama a hypocrite of the first order? A typical do as I say not as I do liberal?

I wouldn't spend 8 million dollars for a house so close to my neighbors that I could throw a softball through their windows from my bedroom. Nuh uh.

Yeah, but the fucked up part is that's kinda small compared to the sorts of people he is talking about. I'm no Obama lover, but this argument is weak and overused. He was the fucking president for 8 years. Of course he's successful. Attack his words, not his home.

Just one more PHONY liberal talking out his ass. I wonder what he got paid for that phony speech, $300k? Sure I'll give a speech on wealth inequality, if you pay me $300k.

He deserves it. He had the hardest job in the world for eight years. He earned the respect of people all over the world for his attempts at nuclear disarmament and supporting economic efforts to bring the world's poor into the 21st century.
You want to take on the job of the Presidency for eight years? Never a single minute actually "off," with the weight of the world on your shoulders? No wonder he disappeared on a three month vacation as soon as he was done.
$300K is diddly squat. You can bet Trump will ask for $750K when he's out of office.

We learned of his hypocrisy when he did this.

Most rich people DESERVE their wealth. They earned it.
Or is it just elite socialists that deserve it?

The liberal elite lives by lies and deception only. Few major examples..........

1. Wealth distribution and charity. They do all the talking, yet the wealthiest zip codes are primarily liberal while conservatives give more to charity.

2. They desire to over-throw our country with illegals because they're losing Americans. Like youth and people who feel victimized, they prey on the weak and uninformed, and who better a target than those who are poor and don't speak English.

3. If they can't defend themselves or are short on material, they just raise the race card.

This is the base foundation for the modern "liberal".

That really isn't the point. He is chastising people for doing what he is doing.

Did you really think he or any other top Democrat ever does what they preach? I'm only surprised its not further from the street, out of sight with a guarded gate, but maybe the whole neighborhood is guarded. You know, so none of those poor people he was always talking of helping don't come to his door (unless they want to clean his house).

But then, when will anyone ever be home? The whole family will be jet setting around the world most of the time fighting for justice and liberty for the masses.

Pretty good for a shitheel who never did nothing nor ever held down a real job in his life!

I doubt Trump will take anything and he's working now for no salary.

He's a billionaire he doesn't need our tax dollars.

OK... I'll attack his words as hypocritical.
Remember he's attacking people with homes like his.

Phony complaints about "vast differences"!
Does he realize these facts and more so do YOU?

By 1890, there were about 4000 millionaires in the United States, almost half of them living in the New York area.
Google Answers: statistics on millionaires, late 1800s

As of the end of 2016, there were a record 10.8 million millionaires nationwide,
according to a new study from Spectrem Group's Market Insights Report 2017.Mar 24, 2017
how many millionaires in usa 2017 - Google Search

Over a billion people have been lifted out of poverty since 1990
Over 1 billion people have been lifted out of poverty since 1990, but the next billion will be harder

And yet idiots like Obama go on and on and we have the rest of us improving our financial lives IN SPITE of interferences as Obama did with actions backing statements like these! Not at all helpful in building individual independence much less wealth!

Do you really think his speech meant that people who work hard shouldn't have a nice home in a good neighborhood? That is not the take away I got from it.

Obama made out pretty well for a guy who never held a real job in his life. Of course being POTUS was a real job but one has to wonder where he got the money for an eight million dollar home???

Since 2005, the Obamas have made a combined 20 million dollars. 15.5 million of that are royalties from Barack’s three best-sellers. The rest is income from their jobs, and actually comes out to a bit less than you might expect two Harvard law graduates to make at this point in their careers. Barack’s book royalties provide them with more than enough income to afford a nice house, or even more than one.

Additionally, the Obamas recently signed a $60 million joint deal for their forthcoming memoirs, so they aren’t worried about making mortgage payments.

Oh, don't worry. He'll take it alright. Just like Trump University and his casinos and his private resorts.
He'll take it.
And while we're all criticizing OBAMA for having a nice house in the Kalorama district of D.C. so his daughter can finish high school there.....
does ANYONE remember what kind of indecently wealth flaunting homes Trump owns?
Makes the Obama home look like a trailer.

It takes more than one person to make a billion dollars. It's a question of what's moral in the distribution of that earned money. Why should somebody be able to make billions off the sweat and suffering of people that can barely afford to live? Yes, they choose to work for that person, but only out of desperation. That's not an amount of money they are comfortable or content with. You say they earned it, but I say the people that pull the levers and turn the gears earned it too, or at least some more of it than they get. Society should care more about the lowest among us. That's why places like Scandinavia are much happier than we are.
