Who won the debate and why?

I kept asking myself "what is a lib like Ron Paul doing on that stage?"

This is his last hurrah. After he drops out this time, he won't be back. He's got a lot of good ideas about the economy and is a good constitutionalist, but anything past that and the guy is way out in lala land.

And number 2 in the running by some accounts.

So, for clarification purposes, the GOP currently has a RINO in the lead, and a liberal in 2nd. WTF happened to that whole Tea Party thing and the new "conservative" movement in the GOP?

Close... we have a RINO supposedly in the lead, and second place keeps changing. As far as Paul goes, he's a libertarian, not a liberal.

???????????????

You consider Ron Paul a liberal? Based on what?

No. Mudwhistle does. See his post atop Page 2. Since there is NO doubt he votes anything but Democrat, I used his stance in my post.

please explain why you see Ron Paul as a liberal. I can not think of one position he has that is anything other than a libertarian/isolationist.
Please explain.

La La land?

I tired to like Paul...but his ideology does not work for me...but lala land? I think not.

But then again, I dont see the liberal ideology as lala land either. Just an ideology that doesnt work for me.

Based on his history of posts, if you do not favor the US having the largest military and military budget in the WORLD, and then starting wars in every corner of the globe to help feed the "defense" contracting industry, you are a liberal.

I think Newt won the debate.
Santorum didn't do too bad either.
I also think Romney got hit hard a few times and Paul didn't present his message well.
Hopefully Thursday's debate will be the last we see of Perry.

Newt won the debate, in my opinion, and it is because his answers, explanations and logic reflected the views of the majority of the audience, as well as mine.

I dont see his posts that way at all. He supports military action where he believes military action is warranted. He does not support military action for the fianncial gains of it.

Paul believes in a strong military...just not a military that is all over the world. He supports a military that defends the US...not other countries.

And I support that logic. Unofortunately, I cannot support the bulk of Paul's other ideas.

I agree.

As usual, Newt was the most confident...never gave the "Im on the defense" type of attitude.

Santorum was strong in my eyes...may have been hisbest performance.

Paul was sure with his answers...but he still stuttered with them....dont know why....his answers have not chanegd since the first debate.

Perry? Still cant figure him out. His maturity level bothered me...I mean....who calls them "taxes" anymore.....mature adults refer to them as "returns" or "tax returns"...

Romney....still on the fence with him...but if he is the nominee...he will most definitely have my vote.

Yeah....I know what you mean.

The associated press (A.P.) characterized the debate as "an old fashioned revival meeting". How's that for fair and balanced reporting?

Despite not watching one second of the debate I can confidently say that Barack Obama won this one............again.

I dvr'd it but Hubby watched it this morning and He told me one thing Newt said that I totally agree with. Unemployment being 99 weeks is enough time to get an Associate's degree . Why not make these people even if we have to help in financing get that degree in another field so they can open up other possibilities on other job opportunities.

Another one who admits that he will be an uninformed voter.

Go ahead Article 15....have fun with it...I can take it.

Because the GOP considers that SOCIALISM and would never go for that.

No it doesnt.
But we consider it a very expensive idea and one we cant afford.
