The right says this election isn't about Romney or his record, it's about stopping Obama and the democrats. The left says this election isn't about Obama's record, it's about stopping Romney and the republicans. So who is this election about?
Personally, I think it's very telling that both sides want you to ignore their candidate and focus on the opposition. It should be common sense that every election is about all candidates and their records, but apparently common sense is not a common virtue. But if it's the wish of the parties, then fine. Democrats, I will ignore Obama. Republicans, I will ignore Romney. I will ignore both candidates and focus on other candidates besides those two.
