Minerva (/mɪˈnɜːr.və/; Latin: [mɪˈnɛr.wa]; Etruscan: Menrva) was the Roman goddess of wisdom and sponsor of arts, trade, and strategy. She was born with weapons from the head of Jupiter.[1] After impregnating the titaness Metis, Jupiter recalled a prophecy that his own child would overthrow him. Fearing that their child would grow stronger than he and rule the Heavens in his place, Jupiter swallowed Metis whole. The titaness forged weapons and armor for her child while within the father-god, and the constant pounding and ringing gave him a headache. To relieve the pain, Vulcan used a hammer to split Jupiter's head and, from the cleft, Minerva emerged, whole, adult, and bearing her mother's weapons and armor. From the 2nd century BC onwards, the Romans equated her with the Greek goddess Athena.[2] She was the virgin goddess of music, poetry, medicine, wisdom, commerce, weaving, crafts, and magic.[3] She is often depicted with her sacred creature, an owl usually named as the "owl of Minerva",[4] which symbolised her association with wisdom and knowledge.

The Seal of California depicts the Goddess Minerva. Her having been born fully-grown symbolizes California having become a state without first being a territory

Minerva is displayed on the Medal of Honor, the highest military decoration awarded by the United States government.

Minerva is the patron goddess of the Theta Delta Chi and Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternities, the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, and the Kappa Kappa Gamma and Delta Sigma Theta[10] sororities

Its the truth is you like it or not, and no I'm not sure who Dan Brown is, let alone read his books.
Him no, just reading history and pointing it out. I believe many symbols say a lot, all hints. Even if many of these are myths, their use says a lot.

No I doubt most people know anything about Minerva . I think just knowing about Minerva, gives more meaning to the Virgin Mary , don't you. I mean even some jews worshipped Asherah. Its good to know that Roman mythology and theology is still alive and everywhere you look.

most people do know about ATHENA-----every high school kid in the USA ---was SUPPOSED to read the ODYSSEY and some actually read it. (since you did not----I will help----Athena was a kind of ally for Odysseus up there on Mount
Olympus) Minerva is a character in the Roman Pantheon which is all but LIFTED WHOLE from the greeks. One could calle Minerva----the roman version of Athena (maybe you did not learn this stuff in catholic school) Virginity in a GODDESS is a common concept in the religions of ancient Rome and Greece. Jews did not worship Asherah----you are referring
to a pagan religion of the land of Canaan. The culture of that
people including its ART----and "special trees" and superstitions, and customs got around to the horror of some of the purists -----kinda like jews who get tatoos

are you angry at the romans?

Who me? No, all roads lead to Rome, the Roman Empire was the greatest and so was their religion.

the romans conquered lots of people----took millions of slaves and the slaves built lots of roads. The Roman version of slavery was the most barbaric------an owner could legally kill a save for no reason at all other than he wanted to.

I seem to recall they Jewish leaders were a little red faced over Jewish athletes at the Olympics, the trend at that time was total nudity...

How is that when they stood in opposition of the true God=YHWH? No wonder Jesus taught--Few will find the road that leads off into life( in Gods kingdom)

True God Yahweh? Only if your Judean, Israel's high God was EL. I don't believe Jesus was a Jew. No one knows Gods name, the creators name. Take your pick. The Christian religion is a trinity, do Jews or Muslims have a trinity , no, where do trinities come from, Rome, and Egypt also had some.
