Who is affected, by DROUGHT?

This will have BIG consequences ob all kinds of food products this fall. The corn crop will be way down...and corn is in everything.

What will happen if they face drought in eight of the next ten years?

Ready to stop resisting global warming legislation or will you need a drought of a thousand years before you are convinced?

s0n.......you need to get off the PC and go get a beer.:laugh2: Is there anything you dont worry about? And for spending 16 hours a day on the PC, how the fuck do you end up so fucking naive?:poke:

Sounds rather like a kettle complaining about a pot to me.

We won't get much relief, until the El Nino phase of ENSO clicks in, later this Summer.

When THAT happens, some places will get way, WAY too much rain and snow.

But El Nino should kick in, enough to discourage some Atlantic hurricanes. Gulf canes will be another story, likely.

Sucksassandballs won't be in too much trouble, until some big quake or a big wave comes along, and then he has to spit out what he was sucking, in a New Yawk second, and kiss somebody's ass, goodbye.

Pretty dry here in northwestern Illinois. Our corn, along with all our other farming friends, is beginning to look pretty bad. Need rain - about 4 or 5 inches really soon.

Well here's hoping that you get some rain. The forecasts don't look good at all. You people feed a good bunch of us in this nation, and your misfortune affects us all. Hoping for rain for you.

We never had droughts before the invention of the Internal Combustion Engine.

Not Once.

Not ever.

We have had droughts. We have had floods. We have had storms. They are just getting more frequent severe and their territory is changing and expanding.

In my area we have had three "hundred year" floods in the last twenty. Same with heat. We have exceeded the number of 90 degree summer days in each of the last five years.

There are all kinds of things going on that are, to say the least, unusual.

Conservatives remind me of the optimist who jumps off a twenty story building. As he passes the third floor he states confidently, "So far, so good".

I think the first real calamity of warming will not be high power bills, bad air or storms.

It will be hunger.

A conservative will deny he is even falling

Both Swiss Re and Munich Re state that there has been an increase in extreme weather by a factor of 3 to 5 in the last forty years. And that we had better plan for the continued increase, as the insurance companies are approaching a point at which they can no longer insure certain areas.

The people that deal directly with extreme weather and the results, are all saying the same thing. The number and ferocity of the events are increasing, and now we are seeing direct consequences in the cost of food, and the number of human lives affected.

Natural disaster - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A natural disaster is a major adverse event resulting from the earth's natural hazards, for example floods, tsunami, tornadoes, hurricanes, volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, heatwaves, or landslides. A natural disaster can include loss of life, injury, economic loss, and environmental loss. The severity of the losses depends on the ability of the affected population to resist the hazard, also called their resilience.[1] This understanding is concentrated in the formulation: "disasters occur when hazards meet vulnerability."[2]

Thus an event will not constitute a natural disaster if it occurs in an area without vulnerability, e.g. an earthquake in an uninhabited area.

Natural disaster events are moving on UP:

Some tapering off is lately evident; isn't that special:

More people are affected, more are DEAD:

C'mon Ray.......you were saying the same stuff two years ago.

This "extreme weather" statement can be made by alarmists in ANY year and has been echoed EVERY year for many years now. The 24 hour news cycle has made it very fashionable. Every time a major cold front comes through now causing power outages........or blizard hits the northeast..........its an "BeGinNing of tHe EnD of the wOrlD" EVENT. Except I'm almost 53 years old and its beeen happening MY WHOLE LIFE!!! event.

But I do get the strategy.......lots of people out there that tend to the hysterical and can be easily duped by this crap. Thankfully for the majority of us, we're not so easily duped. As I have posted up in here numerous times, on the list of concerns of Americans, global warming ranks dead last.......as it should be. Most Americans in this day and age are worried simply about getting through the next round of bills while keeping their heads above water. Thats just the way it is.

You warmers are back to calling it global warming again? Or is that just the meme for the Summer and you'll go back to "global climate change" in the Winter?

Call it what you want......

But if it leads to continued drought conditions....Red States pay

I'm asking you warmers what you want to call it... Don't blame me for your confusion...

But if it leads to continued drought conditions....Red States pay

Look at the map again, warmer...

America pays...

Unless you're too stupid to realize that grocery prices go up countrywide...

The 'red states' had drought back in the 30's with a blue state president. Both conditions lasted awhile.

In any case, looks like the drought here in Chicagoland is going to be lessening:

Yup.......

As families lose their farms, as the drought continues

Tell the red state voters that there is no such thing as climate change and that Limbaugh and Beck were right

The red states had a dust bowl

Another result of man screwing with the environment and ignoring warnings of the consequences

no rain here in 8 weeks. we usually have 4 inches a month.
Not the first time, even before the inefficeint internal combustion motor was invented.

When have you ever cared about the red state voters...??

The farmers that you blue staters and warmers keep complaining about?? Yeah, I'm sure they're sympathetic to your worship of Algore...

Well, you could always try to grow something on concrete and asphalt if you had to...

Good luck paying for your groceries in carbon credits, though......

The sun has an effect on global climate...

You warmers failed with the whole "it's man't fault" bullshit long ago...
