Just as the Democrats claim that they favor civil rights for blacks when in reality it has opposed civil rights from day one, the Democrats in the 2020 election cycle have been harping on the Republicans and claiming that the GOP will bankrupt the SS system.

Again, in reality it is the Democrats that have long seen the SS system as a giant slush fund.

Back when the federal budget had a favorable cash flow Bill Clinton wanted to direct the excess towards Social Security's trust fund. The Republicans instead wanted a tax cut which they got when George W Bush became president.

Democrats started stealing Social Security money the same year the bill was signed into law. It was good old crooked LBJ who made it legal when he officially declared that FICA taxes would be placed in the general fund.
