So, the Trumpettes are running in circles screaming how guns are not the problem but crazy people.

So which of Cruz's actions would you agree to make a law that would call for a lifetime gun ownership ban?

In school, telling some one how pissed he is & wants to kill people. Would an idle or purposeful threat warrant a lifetime ban?

Would being expelled from school for fighting warrant a lifetime ban on gun ownership?

Would cutting yourself online warrant such a ban?

Would wearing a Trump hat while shooting a gun warrant a ban?

Tell us. What about the Vegas shooter, Columbine, sandy hook,

Say, you forgot a bunch of shootings. Wanna know a commonality or two on all the shooters? All of them were on some sort of mood altering, antidepressant type stuff or riddelin/ Adorol type drugs. Know what else some of them have in common? In some way, shape or form some of the shooters were in some way involved with law enforcement, specifically, the FBI.

So due to gross incompetence on every major case since 2000 (Anthrax anyone) I’m thinking a ban on the FBI would go further making us safer then gun control.

Orlando airport gun incident: Federal agent fires weapon accidentally at checkpoint

“sharp clap rang through the east end of Orlando International Airport’s sprawling terminal on Tuesday, unnerving travelers who thought it was a gunshot. They were right.

A federal agent had accidentally shot himself in the left foot, having somehow dislodged his holstered pistol and pulling the trigger while grasping for the weapon.”

I bet it was a Glock that bubba shot him self with.

Individuals adjudicated as mentally ill are designated as prohibited persons per Federal law.

One must be afforded due process before mental health concerns can be used to justify prohibiting someone from possessing a firearm.

The 2nd Amendment must not be infringed in any way. Get these kids off psychotic medication. When I was in high school, we could carry guns in our vehicles on campus in case we decided to go duck or deer hunting after school. You didn't hear about school shootings until they started pushing these anti-depression meds on kids.

He provided a multitude of reasons to be subjected to a psych evaluation, yet the 'powers that be' failed to have one done.

Five states have laws which allow family members or local law enforcement to request a judge to authorize the temporary taking of firearms from someone believed to be a danger to himself or others.

Such laws require a hearing be conducted within weeks to determine if a longer-term restriction is warranted.

And a judge must convene a hearing anytime requested by someone wishing to have his firearm returned.

So, you think he should have been arrested? On what evidence?

You think he should have been denied a gun? By what action.

Be specific. What did the shooter do to force this action?

Are you saying that we can force people to have psychic evaluation & use them to ban their gun ownership?

Anyone can be forced into a psyche ward for evaluation if they are deemed a threat to themselves or others.

The law is there it's just rarely followed.

Involuntary Mental Health Commitments

Here in the US, each state has its own laws and procedures for pursuing a mental health commitment. Some states allow outpatient commitment as well as inpatient. There is wording variation from state to state, but in most jurisdictions there is provision to commit a person involuntarily for psychiatric treatment if there is convincing evidence that the person has a “mental illness” and as a result of such “mental illness” is a danger to himself or others, or is gravely disabled.

Massachusetts law limits the kind of gun a teen can buy . We wouldn’t be allowed to by an AR.

Mass laws have the local PD issue gun licenses. The chief can deny someone who is “unsuitable”. With all the domestic calls to this guys house , he would’ve been denied here in MASS.

So enough of the false “no gun laws would’ve prevented this “ line .

One good tip from a person close to the shooter to the FBI should warrant an investigation that would lead to action of barring weapons to him. That is , of course if we had an effective FBI.

The law wouldn't have stopped him. He had pistols too and was researching bomb making.

Without the authorities doing their jobs this incident was going to play out one way or another with this individual.

Sen. Chuck Schumer blasted President Trump’s budget proposal for stripping millions from the background check system used to prevent criminals and the mentally ill from getting guns.

The White House budget plan would strip 16% from the National Instant Criminal Background Check System, Schumer said — cutting its budget from $73 million to $61 million.

“Our background check system is our line of defense. We need to make it better, and here Donald Trump is cutting it,” Schumer (D-N.Y.) said Sunday. “It’s just appalling.”

The system is used to conduct checks under a federal law requiring licensed gun dealers to do background checks before making a sale, to determine whether the buyer has a serious criminal record or has been adjudicated as mentally ill and ineligible to buy a gun.

“It means that people who shouldn’t get guns because they’re felons or adjudicated mentally ill will, because they’ll fall through cracks in the system,” Schumer said.

In Florida it's legal to sell a gun without doing a background check. And that's what the gun nuts want.

So you could have taken all this guy's guns away from him, and given whatever time it took him,

he could be rearmed and ready to roll.

No need for a new law, the shooter was institutionalized in a mental health facility, that should have been reported to NICS, it wasn't. I saw some idiot on the news claim he legally bought 5 handguns, federal law says you have to be 21 to buy a handgun.

Only commiecrats equate budget with effectiveness. Their answer is to always throw more money at a problem.
