Economist's View: Where Do Your Federal and State Tax Dollars Go?
There's a missing perspective.
How much of the spending for various state funded programs is devoted to pensions for public union employees who retire at very early ages? Police departments, fire departments, and school systems across the states are cutting staff and services to pay excessive pension benefits. It's falling apart.
More than half the federal budget is entitlements
State pensions fall under the "All Others" category in state spending.
Closer to 2/3.
I also notice there's no slice of the pie to show how much the bureaucrats skim right off the top.
Where's the "Hookers & Blow" section of the chart?
Much of the bitching about entitlements comes from old Republicans on social security
Most of the dimmy progressive bitching is about the defense budget.
These pension plans for state employees have been out of control for twenty years. The people in positions of responsibility voted themselves outrageous pension benefits and then extended them to police, fire fighters and a host of other buffoons.
Many of these guys are making as much in retirement as they made on the job. AND they have retired after only 20 years on the job.
It is all corrupt as hell.
When was the last time we defended ourselves against much of anything?
