In the three dimensional chess game that is politics I think we are looking too much for a knockout punch instead of rope a dope. Let's say this controversy lasts for a week or more, and president Obama decides to let Loretta recuse herself and appoints a special, prosecutor for the sake of transparency and make everyone happy. A special prosecutor would take years to come to a conclusion, definitely past the elections. Obama cares nothing about Hilary, he only cares about preserving power. Hilary, sans indictment, is the best bet for democrats to keep the White House. But once she has won, anybody can do her job. The Vice President steps in, pardons Hilary, and the dems live happily ever after.
I think bills talk with Loretta was more about muddying the waters and slow walking the process than outright non indictment. After all,Obama has found out that slow walking every scandal they have had is a successful strategy. A compliant press has been Obamas greatest ally and whatever he decides to do they will support.
