Were Biden's vile remarks on purpose to give Obama an excuse to have him resign ?

Think about this.
It's late in the campaign, and we all agree Biden is a liability.
Obama didn't want the fallout from publicly dumping him, and he no doubt was hopeful that he would have an insurmountable lead and Biden would not hurt him much.

However, Romney is closer than expected, so Obama needs a legitimate reason to dump him, without it looking like he is doing so because of panic.

So what is the possibility that the campaign decided to have Biden make some really controversial remarks that would give Obama a reason to have him step down as a running mate, and have Hillary take his place ?

Hillary on the ticket would excite the base like nothing else, hope and change is gone, but with Hillary there it would come back strong.

Obama is going to win the womens vote, and Hillary on the ticket would then make it overwhelming.

What say you ?

No Obamas team already put out a press release standing by Bidens words. No story here.

Let me guess, they said his comments were just a metaphor ?

It's too late to change VP's for anything other than health reasons. Besides, Biden has been uttering this kind of brainless, meaningless claptrap forever.

His latest stupidity hardly stands out as a fire-able offense after an entire career of stupidity.

What is vile about his remarks?

The only controversy is in the minds of right wing-nuts. Biden's words were nothing more than a "right back at ya" of Boehner's words. Funny, nobody here seemed to think it controversial when Boehner made comments about shackles.
