Weiner introduces bill to kill Medicare
Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-NY) says he plans to introduce a politically-targeted amendment forcing Republicans to vote "yes" or "no" on continuing Medicare, the government-run health care program for seniors, on the 44th anniversary of its enactment.

Weiner [who plans to vote yes, obviously] said he wants to tack the amendment onto the health care bill being marked up today -- to call bluff on Republicans who say federal intervention into health care has been a failure.

"It’s put-up or shut-up time for the phonies who deride the so-called ‘public option’," Weiner said.

Weiner is targeting reps like Dr. Tom Price (R-Ga.), who penned an op-ed in today's POLITICO with the following contention:

Going down the path of more government will only compound the problem. While the stated goal remains noble, as a physician, I can attest that nothing has had a greater negative effect on the delivery of health care than the federal government’s intrusion into medicine through Medicare. Because of Washington’s one-size-fits-all approach, its flawed coverage rules and broken financing mechanisms, seniors are increasingly having care rationed while federal health spending spirals out of control.

So, when your bill is in deep shit, run the distraction play to try and blame it on the people who are powerless to stop it in the first place.

    A-friggin-mazing.

A republican could introduce a bill legalizing crystal meth. Who the fuck cares? Doesn't make a damn bit of difference. The repubs are out of power and the dems are filibuster proof. so your scumbags can show what they're made of for a couple years. The fact you even brought this up shows you're afraid the demofucks may not be in office for very long.

They haven't put their money where their mouths are since before either you or I were born.....Nothing new there.

Still doesn't change that this is a diversionary tactic, to distract from the deep shit that the socialized medicine bill is in.

Well, we are not going to get all that we want. Maybe only one third of a loaf this time. But we will get something, and next time, more.

Once again RETARD. There are 265 democrats and 170 Republicans in the House. It only takes 218 votes to pass a bill. There are 59 Democratic Senators and 2 Independents that vote with the Democrats, versus 39 Republican Senators. It only takes 51 Senators to pass a bill.

Go ahead dumb fuck, explain how the Republicans are blocking or preventing ANYTHING? Come on use some of that new math.

It is DEMOCRATS trying to bamboozle Republicans into having to vote for a crappy health care bill. Do you ever read threads? And once again if the bill does not pass, it will not be because of Republicans it will be because of DEMOCRATS. They have overwhelming majorities in both houses.
