Frugal teen buys house with 4-H winnings | The Columbus Dispatch
Seriously, I'm impressed.
40K for a house, that's absurd. HOmes in places I live or lived in go for 10X that.
Yes, the saving is impressive, but most places you can't get a home for 40K
That is a kid to be proud of.
My daughter just turned 17 last Saturday and has over 10K in the bank.
Of course her bit one line role in The Blind Side paid 4K of it but she saves all she makes acting and singing.
If her current sitcom TV pilot where she has a lead role sells she will be looking at 5 figures per.
A smart girl, indeed. She and her parents should be proud.
Hey! My family is from that area. Chillicothe to be precise. Great little town. The town that Mead built... and ruined since they shut down the mill. Now the biggest employer is Kenworth. It was the first and third capital of Ohio. It is also mentioned in Viva Las Vegas and Blue Hawaii. Just outside of town there are some cool Indian mounds and Charles Manson did time in the nearby prison.
