Just another day in the "Land of the Free."

The police insisted something was wrong and used their authority to enter the house without a warrant believing that the welfare of the child or mother were in jeopardy. However, from the video and Stephanie’s own words, everyone was fine. The only people posing a threat to the Petrenko family were the Vancouver cops.

As police began to breach the house, Stephanie was assaulted. The traumatic instance of their baby being yanked from her arms was captured on video. The family was but helpless victims to the dozen armed agents — ostensibly there to help them.

“We Don’t Need a Warrant” — Cops Enter Home Through Window, Rip Infant From Mother’s Arms

W.T.H.??

To begin with why was the Vancouver Police Department there?

It is a fact that cops can enter --suddenly and forcibly if they have REASON to believe that a child is in danger

Yes, but they clearly saw the child was not in danger. Plus, why was it the police from another country?

Sounds like stupid people getting what they deserved. The cops were doing their job after they were dispatched to the residence. The police do not need a warrant to investigate a domestic problem, they can bust in if need be. The op-ed was very lopsided but reading between the lines it sounds like the couple decided to play street lawyer by what they learned on TV shows.

They should have just answered a few questions and been done with it, but nooooooo, that's too easy. What if the cops said OK, I guess we'll go then. Then somebody dies. The same critics will demand answers on why the cops didn't do something.

That's right. In fact a fire department just lost a huge lawsuit and even the firemen lost immunity so they could lose their homes in it...because they did JUST THAT: came to a home...no one answered...left...had to come back when it was too late....and they ate the blame.

It's getting to the point where it's literally impossible to work in ANY public service- police, fire, EMS or public teaching in K-12 or college.

Welcome to the ObamaNation. thank those who voted for him and is about ready to vote for Obama the second to carry on his policies, with Hillary.

More mental masturbation..We must remember how cops are here to save us from ourselves, the first step in establishing a police state..

And in Prince George County a firemen was MURDERED when a family called 911 to check on their loved one they thought was inside dying.

They got no answer at door. Forced in. Shithead family member shot the firemen. Killed one.

1. If they DIDN'T go in...and left...and someone inside died...they'd get blasted by media (fireman was white shooter is said to be black, media won't report the race)
2. Many said they should have waited and let cops force entry. But cops would've SHOT BACK....killed him....then guess what the headline would be? Yep. "Family calls for help with medical emergency. Cops kill patient." And DontTazeMeBro would be happy to spew it on USMB.

It's a lose - lose situation these days for ALL public service employees.

I would be 100% ok with banning cops from responding to anything dealing with mental health or social services bullshit.

Murder. Rape. Robbery. Vandalism. Reckless driving. I could pick 10 crimes cops should respond to and say the rest....society is on its own or call someone else. That's what SHOULD happen.

Hmmm. We know the mainstream media loves a juicy "bad cop" story. I have searched and kind find any reputable news source (bit of an oxymoron) that's covered it.

DontTazeMeBro....can you provide any source from national or local Washington media that have covered this "home invasion and assault" carried out by 4 cops who knew their crime was being filmed??

but don't accuse Democrats of being totalitarian and fascist. many will swallow the line how: they are only looking out for you little people.

Democrats move to restore ATF powers

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives hasn’t done well in terms of having directors put into office since the position first required Senate confirmation in 2006. Byron Todd Jones was the director last year, but no replacement has been confirmed since his departure for a position with the NFL and the agency is currently led by Acting Director Thomas Brandon. The Democrats are looking to change this situation with a new bill which would reinstate certain investigative functions and allow the President to appoint the director without confirmation by the Senate. Needless to say, this won’t be going over well with everyone. (Government Executive)

The ATF Enforcement Act (H.R. 4905), introduced by Rep. Don Beyer, D-Va., would lift “procedural blocks” that Congress put in place through multi-year “appropriations riders” that restrict the agency’s ability to enforce gun laws by removing limitations on operations and day-to-day functions. It would relax, for example, rules that restrict the ATF from using gun trace data to crack down on bad actor gun dealers whose products end up used in crimes.

“Gun violence kills over 30,000 people each year, yet gun-lobby-backed congressmen and women took advantage of procedural tricks to handicap the ATF from enforcing our gun laws,” Beyer said in a release on the bill that has nine other Democratic co-sponsors. “Since the ATF director position was first made subject to Senate confirmation in 2006, lawmakers backed by the gun lobby have refused to confirm the nominees of both Democratic and Republican presidents. This vacuum at the very top severely hampers ATF’s ability to carry out its mission.”

You see how ( We the people) are getting in their way^^^^ of "carrying out their mission"

There are a two different aspects to this bill which will draw fire from Republicans and conservatives, making it unlikely to pass muster in Congress. The first is the issue of naming the new director. The process by which this is done is pretty much up to the legislature. Article II Section 2 of the Constitution specifies a few offices which must adhere to the advise and consent standard, but beyond that it leaves such inferior officers, as they think proper up to the congress to decide whether or not any approval is required. Prior to 2006 the President simply appointed whomever he liked.

all of it here:

You know, some swarthy Asian prick like the OP has no business criticizing this nation's laws and law enforcement. If you got such a problem with us then go back to Tienamen Square and deal with those tanks, you chink asshole!

No he can't.
Turns out the "standoff" took place because the husband had had a restraining order taken out against him by the wife.
The call from Kentucky to 911 was from the wife's sister. The wife called her sister and told her the husband had broken into the house and was refusing to leave.
Once a 911 call is received involving an existing restraining order and a domestic dispute LE is required by law to enter the premises and determine what is happening.
At that point the wife has no say in what happens.
Too many abused women are too terrified to say anything to LE. Many of these women end up dead.
In this case the wife was insisting her husband had been asked into the house by her.
The sister in Kentucky told LE a different story.
The reason the local media didn't touch the story is because it happens a dozen times a day in the county. Not 'standoffs' but domestic abuse cases.
The reason the couple have lost the baby is because both parents are well known to local LE as crack-heads.
So DTMB, now you can crawl back under your rock and wait for the next bullshit story from cop-hating blogs.
You do seem to lead a pretty fucking empty life.
