We are a nation of laws......

So you going to admit nat that you and the 9th was wrong? Once again..

Far from it. BearBreath.....Look up the ruling of Dredd Scott v. Sanford in the mid nineteenth century...Here's the SCOTUS ruling....and I'm sure you would have agreed with them 100%.

People of African descent imported into the United States and held as slaves, or their descendants — whether or not they were slaves — were not included under the Constitution and could never be citizens of the United States.

The recent 9th circuit appellate decision confirms that tenet.....Mindful that the district court decision was by a judge appointed by a republican....and the appellate decision ALSO had a judge appointed by a republican.......Ergo, Trump's inane comment that the decisions are "all political" is as stupid as most of the comments he tweets.

We are NOT a nation of right wingers interpreting the Constitution as they want it to mean.

We are NOT a nation of ignorant presidents who learn their legal precepts from watching episodes of Law & Order ....

We are NOT a nation that supports xenophobia, torturing and misogynistic policies because some clowns tell us that otherwise we should live in fear.

The "emperor's new clothes" are being exposed.

You lost.
Again.

Missed most of this. Under the Constitution the order goes to a higher court. Way it was meant to be. I'm assuming this is the Travel Ban Executive Order.

We will see what the higher courts have to say. Only then can the Gnat Crow.

In regards to WE ARE NATION OF LAWS. Coming from a side that CHEERED the LAWLESSNESS of the Issues of Immigration. Cheering for VIOLATORS of the Law and those who created Sanctuary Cities openly stating they will not follow the laws in this country.

In a nation of LAWS you shouldn't be able to pick and choose which ones you will obey. That's not how it's supposed to work.

Hypocrisy is very high with this OP's purpose

What does that have to do with your OP or the travel ban and didn't you ever hear of the 13th and 14th amendments?

.

Its rather "amazing" how many right wingers on here are confusing a SCOTUS ruling between LAWS and Executive Orders......(A failure of junior high school where most of right wingers stopped going, I guess.)
.
Trump has NOT passed ONE piece of legislation (too busy with golfing?) and the SCOTUS has NOT voted on whether his travel ban of anyone who believes in Allah is something that is part of our Constitution.......

if you had a few more functioning brain cells, you could (maybe) figure it out....Can't help stupidity on this forum...Stay just as you are now....we need the cheap labor.

A city is not required by any law to enforce a federal law, Eagle, and that is such a basic 8th grade Civics principle, that it reinforces why you and Trump do not need to be in any position in which you would have the authority to interpret law.

It was purely political, they based their ruling off of his campaign rhetoric and not national security

Moron, when Obama issued his ban on NEW visas to Iraqi that was based on a national security risk........Trump's moronic order was based on some nightmare he must have had roaming the halls of the WH residence.

(for her sake, good thing that Melania no longer sleeps with him.)

ROFLMFAO, both situations have changed. :ack-1::ack-1::ack-1:

Are we still a nation of laws after what the Supreme Court ruled today? Or do we stop being a nation of laws the moment SCOTUS rulings don't go the way you want them to? Serious question(s) nat.

My sincerest apologies....I overlooked that among the "brilliant" legislation that Trump signed, FIVE were related to :
Naming something, siting a memorial or encouraging flag flying

No, NO......I fully admit that the SCOTUS has upheld the Muslim ban of the orange clown's executive order.......

bear in mind TWO things (if your brain can manage 2 things at a time)

1. They upheld an EO, NOT a law (you need congress to pass legislation)...and

2. Look up the Scott v. Sanford that the SCOTUS upheld and then had to revert that ruling because it WAS clearly racist......

Of course not.

What really kills me here is that the ruling by the 9th in this case is ludicrous from a legal standpoint. It is well established that the president has such powers and can exercise them. Striking down the ban was nothing more than disgruntlement over Trumps rhetoric.

Problem is the US is a nation of partisan politics over everything else. People seem to think it's a sport, you support your team and hope it wins, and will do anything and everything to tell everyone why you're winning.

It's quite sad, but every Empire has its day and every empire has failed.

Looks like the judge and any employee that assisted can be prosecuted for obstruction and interference of a federal law enforcement officer in the performance of their duty. Oh and aiding an illegal alien to remain in the country. In short, they're toast.
