I remember reading old newspaper clipping of the progress in WW2 on the various fronts - Russia, the Pacifc, North Africa, Italy, Normandy to Berlin etc..

Everybody knew what was going on

Not sure aboutKorea

But nam was a total mystery as to the front lines

so has every so called war after...........................

Better get used to it. With the lethality of modern weapons, the days of concentrated masses of troops are gone for good.
