Deonte Lee Murray, 36, has been accused of shooting two officers in their patrol car on the evening of Saturday, September 12, 2020.

The ambush, which left the officers in critical condition, happened in Compton area of Los Angeles, California.

"LASD and District Attorney Jackie Lacey announce the arrest of Deonte Lee Murray in relation to ambush shooting of two deputies in Compton," FoxLA Bill Melugin tweeted on Wednesday afternoon.

"Murray is charged with attempted murder of both deputies."
He added: "Murray was arrested two weeks ago in connection with a carjacking and shooting of a man in Compton.

"He also faces charges as a result of that incident."

He also faces a maximum sentence of life in prison.

Murray allegedly shot two deputies with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department has not yet commented on a possible motive for the crime.

According to police, Murray "hates police and wants them dead," FoxLa reported.

Murray was reportedly detained by a SWAT team in Los Angeles nearly two weeks ago.

He was arrested over an alleged carjacking that sparked a high speed police chase before he hid in a trash bin at the back of an apartment building in Lynwood, cops say.

However, at the time, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Sgt. Bob Boese told reporters the suspect was not linked to the police shootings.

The attack on the two deputies came amid protests in Los Angeles by the Black Lives Matter movement and calls to defund the police in the wake of the death of George Floyd.

Claudia Apolinar, 31, and a 24-year-old male colleague were both injured when a gunman opened fire through the window of their patrol car in Compton at around 7pm.

Murray, who authorities say is associated with multiple gangs, could face a potential life prison term if convicted of the charges, District Attorney Jackie Lacey. Sheriff's Homicide Bureau Capt. Kent Wegener, who detailed the investigation, did not suggest a specific motive for the attack "other than the fact that he obviously hates policemen and he wants them dead." They need to strip that gorilla naked, roll him in a pool of Aunt Jemima maple syrup and then drag his negro ass out into the high desert east of Los Angeles, stake him down, and leave him there.

Mother Nature will do the rest...

It would be a shame if he hanged himself in his cell.

If the past is any guide, he will be out before you know it.

Since he shot two peace officers, he WILL be given a harsh sentence in order to placate the public.

But sooner rather than later, he will be quietly released -- and go right back to harming innocent people.

That's how it is in 2020 California and increasingly in the whole country, especially since the Dems will likely be back in charge of the federal government very soon.

From the OP's link:

"He is a carjacking suspect and he will be booked for carjacking and assault with a deadly weapon."

The massive police presence in Lynwood was prompted by the fact that Murray had shot his carjacking victim with a "high-powered rifle", Sgt Boese said, as well as a "heightened sense of awareness" after the attack on the deputies, reports the LA Times.

So this guy shot someone else besides the 2 cops? California is a screwy place, but this guy has to go away for a very long time. LIFE works for me. He hid in a trash bin like the trash he is.

Was he captured by social workers and mental health professionals, part of the new 'Imagined' alternative to actual police?

How else to behave with black criminals ?! EXTREMELY through social services: by persuasion to lay down arms!

He shoots, and you say to him: "Hey boy, you are WRONG!"

He shoots again and the bullet passes by a centimeter from your temple, and you say to him:
"Well, why are you SO nervous?
Let's talk!"
