She was mostly a desk bound manager, but she was required to go to the Mideast several times a year for her job, and the outing ended that. It made it too dangerous for her to go to Mideast after her role was exposed, and in fact made any WMD sting much more difficult.

Do you really think any CIA operation to pretend to buy or sell WMD in the Mideast would be successful after Novak revealed that Plame was doing that?
