United Kingdom vs United States Crime Stats Compared

How much we can conclude from this is hard to say. There are some differences in reporting, and soke variations in how data is compiled.

In general, though, we can see the UK is far, far safer than the US in terms of murder, but that the UK suffers more robberies and rapes. The US has a worse suicide problem, and Americans seem to worry more about crime. People in the UK generally feer safer, despite having a worse problem with robbery.

The way you list this is dishonest.

You would have to put the numbers into context by comparing urban and rural ereas.

Comparing poor, middle class and wealthy ereas.

Comparing the number of crimes via impulse and planned crimes with previous intent.

And more and more and more.

Simply posting a list of numbers without context is simply posting a list of numbers without context.

Anyone can use it to make a point about anything.

Um.....no. That's just silly.

Firstly, I think the overview is very interesting. Both countries have rural, urban, middle and working class areas, after all.

Secondly, the link does not break the data down, and I doubt the data you suggest is even collated.

FBI mdash Table 4

This are two exapmles of how to publish crime rates in an honest way.

It gives the option to closely examine and compare the regions to other statistics about the region like education, poverty and on and on.

Thereby actualy making it possible to find a cause.

And not just leaving everything open to everyone to make a dishonest point.

Fair enough. Perhaps you should start a thread on that topic.

Alternatively we could discuss what I have posted.

Saigon my friend you left a bit out for number 4
4. Total Crimes (+ per capita)

UK 6.52 million - 109.96 per capita
USA 11.88 million - 41.29 per capita

Here is what you left out
Total crimes per 1000 109.96
UK Ranked 4th. 3 times more than United States

U.S. 41.29

Ranked 22nd.

I also left out about 4 pages of other statistics. I felt including 10 numbers was enough for most people to skim through.

Russia has very tough gun laws, yet this predominantly white nation has a per capita murder rate twice that of the US. Collate that, nimrod.

Yes -it's strange that a country awash with guns (you can literally buy guns on the street in many Russian cities) would have a high homicide rate. Go figure.
