US has lots of resources both human and natural. Lots of work that needs to be done and lots of people with lots of money that could have created lots of new jobs.

But still they cant combine all the resources and money in a way that brings the society forward. Why?

Unrestrained corporate greed.

So long as we allow them to base all decisions upon the next quarter's profit, or the value of their stock, and not on human beings and the good of the country, it will be that way.

.

Because our "leaders" are corrupt, narcissistic, dishonest thugs who care more about fundraising (from corporations, by the way) & getting re-elected than anything else.
  • Balanced Budget Amendment.
  • Strict, short term limits.
  • Publicly funded elections.
Take the power out of the hands of those who are misusing it.

Either we get serious or we don't.

How about the corporate greed of the oil and gas industries? They're spending $ billions in the U.S. and can't hire fast enough. Low unemployment where the action is.

It's not about quarterly profit, it's about the stupidity of the Obama administration. Now there's the greed that's holding up our economy.

BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!

The old liberal knee-jerk explanation for everything

The last time your theory was tried was 1929. The result was 12 years of depression.

For many reasons. Lets look at energy resources. Why are energy resources being suppressed? Is it because there is slow, or no demand?
There is demand. But the federal/state govt.s have made it policy to deliberately suppress the production and procurement of these resources. So there is an artificial demand lull imposed by the govt.

Same with land grants for drilling. Keystone pipeline, etc...

The government is again, as usual, playing favorites and picking winners and losers in this market sector.

That's one example, and probably one of the biggest examples of why we can't get this economy going again. Central planning do-gooders that always, ALWAYS do far more harm than any good.

Are you insane? We're producing more oil and gas right now than we have in decades. Within another decade or two we'll become the worlds largest producer of oil, surpassing Saudi Arabia.
