TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Trump administration continued its unprecedented series of post-election federal executions Friday by putting to death a Louisiana truck driver who severely abused his 2-year-old daughter for weeks in 2002, then killed her by slamming her head against a truck's windows and dashboard.

Alfred Bourgeois, 56, was pronounced dead at 8:21 p.m. ET after receiving a lethal injection at the federal prison in Terre Haute, Ind.

His lawyers argued Bourgeois had an IQ that put him in the intellectually disabled category which should have made him ineligible for the death penalty under federal law. Victor J. Abreu, said it was "shameful" to execute his client "without fair consideration of his intellectual disability."

Ok. So, if we are going to make the point that his intellectual disability should have spared him the death penalty then why was he left on death row?

Why did Obama-Biden keep this man on death row for 8 years if he didn't deserve to be executed?

IQ that put him in the intellectually disabled
Bet he was a Joe XiBiden voter, with that IQ.

If he is too stupid to know that killing his daughter is wrong, then he should not have been allowed to wander the streets loose.

Or professionally drive an 80,000-pound truck.

The article linked in the OP gives some graphic details of the abuse and torture that he inflicted on the child before finally killing her.

This wasn't just some common retard. This was a subhuman piece of shit, an animal that ought to have been put down a long time ago.

When there is not a shadow if a doubt I don't have too much of a problem with the death penalty.

Which is why I think the standards of proof must be higher in capital cases

Leftist bow their heads in silent homage as their eyes tear up and lips quiver.

He met the criteria for borderline at 70 to 75. That's why.

I just find it odd that people are going to throw that out there as the reason not to and knowing damn well that it would not have made a lick of difference at any point during his trial, sentencing or appeals.
