United Earth Government

Would you like a United Earth?

I'd still like to see one of the people that voted for it explain exactly how they're going to make those that don't want to comply with their one world government agree to join. Force? Magic?

The closest we could ever come to this "utopia" is for the US to offer statehood to any and all nations world wide.

they would all have to accept our laws and Constitution. and have to accept that they are no longer a country but one of our states.

While some countries would jump at the chance just to help feed thier people or get protection from enemies. Most will pass. Not b/c the people are against it, but b/c the leadership won't want to give up that much power.

pfft

Forget it. We still have people killing each other over ancient tribal rivalries! One Nation?!?! HAHAHAAHAHAHAHA

Now you're just being an imperialist!

Why not? Most countries have tried world rule at the tip of a sword. So why not use the ultimate weapon? This weapon has caused more death and suffering threw the ages than all of mans other weapons combined;

Money

Imagine, we offer dirt poor and full of rabid gunmen, but diamond rich countries in Africa the absolute protection of the Stars and Stripes.

Imagine all the countries that are ravaged by malaria. 2 million are killed each year, with nothing to stop it. But we got the money to bring that to a halt.

You live in a grass hut and have only seen electicity and running water? Just say the Pledge.

ahh, sweet sweet dictatorship. I mean, we're spreading democracy. Because capitalism is what money is made of.

hahaha

I'm feeling a little left of center today.

I don't know if a single world government will be feasible until and if we ever start colonizing other worlds. That would give people the opportunity to set up whatever type of government they want elsewhere, eventually possibly leaving a single government on Earth.

A global Government could only come into being and rule by dropping standards for all to the lowest common level for all citizens. The whole world would become a third world nation. Little freedom and an oppressive Government to control the thousands of different groups that co exist on this planet. A Military and police State.

So instead of two levels of government bueauracracy, we have three.

No thank you. We already have a pretty good "transnational" government structure. It was created by something we call the Constitution. A pact between 13 original states.

I don't want any government that isn't going to guarentee basic rights under the US Constitution.

Yes... because the Constitution guaranteed every woman and black man their rights, until those evil communist progressives decided it was flawed and they wanted to change things....

wait...

we are the most properous, free-est, envied nation in the world.

just sayin'...

That's probably not going to happen. Even within our "races" there are differences.

What's going to need to happen is that people believe those differences don't really matter much.

But it's been happening all along.

Our country is a perfect example of the melding of the different races and nationalities.

Yes..but you still have people that "look" vastly different. Take for example the way we categorize women..blondes, brunettes, redheads. They all have features that are very different from each other. If you start attributing other parameters to those differences..like "Dumb Blonde" that becomes the problem.

There are no real differences between the races other then trivial appearances.
And average IQ and a number pf physical qualities...

Your lack of critical thinking and historical perspective is simply stunning, Wow........

It's a normal part of the human evolutionary process.

Yep but we are at least hundreds of years away from being ready for a world government.

Easily several hundred years.

First thing that has to happen is all the individual races be bred out of existence to eventually produce a single version of human.

You can try to explain what that will solve to the Hutu and the Tutsi. :doubt:

The conflict between Hutu and Tutsi in Rwanda

I'm not the one elevating some scrap of parchment to the status of a holy text, worshiping corpses as kings ('But teh founding Daddies!'), and rewriting history to attribute to this nation's past traits that is didn't possess.
