Well if you are using no parameters..Unions are about as American as Apple pie.

And because of Unions..the American way of life has flourished. Unions brought about benefits, minimum wage, worker safety and vacation pay.

Without Unions..America might have decended into either a communist or fascist state.

Which is why I question those who hate Unions. In communist and fascist states..the first thing to go..is the Unions.

I never worked for any one company. In field work you go wherever the dispatcher sends you to do a job. The company there has won the bid for the project & negotiated with the Union to do their work for them. I did field steel construction work building power plants, boilers, ships, tanks, dams, penstocks, etc. A lot of my work was in the nuclear field, building nuke plants & doing repairs and refuels.

another step in eroding rights for everyone (see same sex marriage, civil rights, women's rights)

not about balancing state budgets but striking a political blow
