Unbalanced advice?

Got a letter from my doctor with advice to seniors on how to maintain their balance and stay safe from falls: “Stand on one foot. Try to hold this position for 15 seconds. It may take some practice! Repeat with your other leg.”

Am I the only one who thinks “Let’s practice almost falling down” may not be good advice?

It is tip top advice and should be followed .Anybody who attempts it without having something near ( a wall ) to balance against if necessary, almost deserves to fall over because that shows you also suffer from Alzheimers or something else equally exciting . Most of you old codgers here will fall over unless you take sensible and obvious precautions .

People need to learn how to correctly fall. Take a few judo classes and you'll understand what I mean.
