In the California city of West Hollywood, the City Council began toying with the idea of replacing armed police officers back in 2013. (The progressives there were well ahead of the curve in terms of the defund the police movement.) Things really ramped up last year, however, when the council approved a “block by block” program that would replace many police officers with unarmed “security ambassadors.” They would supposedly intervene in potentially violent situations and “defuse tensions.”

yeah. lookin' good.

So umm how exactly did they expect to handle violent criminals without guns? That's like saying you think that you can jump from an airplane without a parachute and survive. It's completely amazing just how stupid this country has gotten. 🙄

"Unarmed & Not Harmed" is the security(???) ambassadors mantra as they "peacefully observe" violent situations!

Quit asking how stupid hippies would handle anything; it only makes them lie more. My hope is they get robbed and shot several times a day. Don't discourage them or try to talk the idiot gimps out of this, please.

Lib security ambassadors may be stupid but they aren’t crazy

Only a cop with a gun can deal with the lunatics out on the streets today

And they can’t do anything but observe, probably been better to keep the deputies.
WEHO did it because of funding. AFAIK, and if that job requires a guard card and if something goes bad, like the ambassador is somehow in the wrong, a suit against that guard is solely his/her responsibility. Good enough reason to stand back.

LOLOL Well it wont no rightwinger that came up with THAT policy. YOU Admit the lefts policies are stupid but there you are...voting for it again!!!

Would you jump in the middle of that incident?
If “security officers” aren't planning on “jumping in” to the middle of “security” incidents, then why have them in the first place? If I was hired to be a “security officer” then I would be obligated to jump into the middle of a security situation. Otherwise … I may as well be a florist.
