He isn't a socialist. He calls himself that and some of the policies he talks about are quasi socialist. But he isn't for doing away with capitalism or profit. He doesn't want state owned business, factories, or means of production.

'Socialism' to Americans isn't the same as the actual meaning or what it is in practice. Socialism has a bad connotation here but most Americans rely on socialistic programs and methods daily and have no problem with it. As long as it isn't called 'socialism'.

The hard right has called Obama a socialist. It is just a word they've demonized and use to paint someone in a 'negative' light to their base.

National healthcare and free college are quasi socialist ideas. In the big picture human beings in the rest of the world have decided all people deserve access to good medical care. They view it as a human right. Only here, where greed drives things to an evil degree, is medical care considered a commodity like frozen concentrated orange juice. If you can't afford it then too bad, you die or live with rotten teeth or your children don't get heart surgery.

It is easy to look at those two views of medical care and see which one is most civilized. Which one most aligns with what Christ teaches, or any religion for that matter.

But, greed and the hard heart of live and let die still rules many hearts in the US. The very same people that would claim to be followers of Christ in many instances.

I'm a Right-Wing Nationalist, as my family have been for more than 100 years, there is no Socialism in Right-Wing Nationalism, so no Nationalist Conservatives and Right-Wing Nationalists cannot and have never been Socialist.
