Who cares about indices.....bottom line is what the consumer really wants and is willing to pay for......good times or political garbage thrown in their faces...Yeah there are different measures of inflation some of which exclude volatility. So let's assume your original statement was based off an indice that excluded food and energy. Pop quiz: what's been happening in the energy sector over the past 2-3 years? Massive inflation? Same question with CPG companies. Take your time.Actually food and energy are not computed in the inflation rate....just those two things take a huge bite today out of the everyday pocketbook....Actually inflation has been at fairly low historical rates. But carry on.The price of everything has been going up......makes it that much easier to forego such things when they become political.....Americans are taking notice....In 2006 the total Hollywood box office was $9.2 billion, in 2016 $11.3 billion. What a precipitous drop.
The NFL revenues are going up YOY.
Cons fantasies and reality never match up.
