Jimmy Aldaoud spent his entire life in Detroit. He had diabetes and paranoid schizophrenia. Just over two months ago, he was deported by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to Iraq. He never was able to become a citizen, really, because he had mental health problems from his teenage years. Everybody else in his family became a U.S. citizen ... but he never did.

This is a very sad story.. This guy should never have ended up being deported to Iraq... The story serves a purpose to the folks that vote for more muscular and powerful Fed govt and believe those brilliant hard working people in the swamp are compassionate, wise, flexible and give a fucking shit.. They don't.. You work for THEM if you need a problem solved... THey are the most hobbled, and restricted workers in this country in terms of solving problems and being creative..

Found out this guy had an active deportation order since 2005 after I posted last night.

TRUMP did not kill him.. He had at two previous administrations working to get him out of the country..
And his parents who moved him here in freaking 1979, had AT LEAST sixteen yrs to get him thru naturalization and failed at that.. I'm ASSUMING the rest of the family is naturalized and citizens which IMO is just fine.

Failures all around. Once he hit adulthood, the options for naturalization were gone, he was on the streets and getting into petty crime and some more serious charges. Probably during Bush Jr and thru Obama.

Immigration reform should be a DAILY topic on Capitol hill.. It's a primary Constitutional duty.. Not all the other stuff these mental midgets are doing for political advantage.. But it's not.. The American security net failed him, apparently his parents failed him, the Iraqis didn't want him..

Yes and we didn't question their mental status at the age of 3, so he was a petty criminal, apparently they didn't haul him out of jail, after decades, to send him to a country where he has never lived.

His body is being brought back so he can have a Catholic funeral and be buried by his Mom, to be paid for by their Chaldean Community.

Only because they came in 1979 and he was WAY past the age cut-off by then.. But good question.. Maybe there should be "a statute of limitations on "being illegal" and just leave it at that.. Especially if you're ELIGIBLE for naturalization as I believe he was -- but incapable of preparing and studying for the process and the exam...

So MUCH to be fair about.. Almost NOTHING getting done.. Standard Operating Procedure of a very broken Federal govt. And generally, neither party wants the OTHER party to solve any problems on immigration. Got to get RID of the nesting behavior that these two parties have perfected in the Swamp.. When you come from a cruel culture like Iraq, living under shotgun toting tyrants like Sadam Hussein, you just have different values that are ingrained. This applies whether you are Arab Christian or Muslim.. And you just make different choices based on non-Western values about things like mentally handicapped kids than we would.
