Trump/Pence blunder or betrayal?

I wasn't thrilled by the pick. It is largely a ceremonial position these days, but he would have been better served by any number of people. Trump was going to carry Indiana anyway.

Pence is a bland pretty boy. Not very smart, not very good political instincts. In Indiana, you can get far being handsome, pointing to your lovely family, and repeating conservative mantras. On a national stage, no.

We in Indiana are hoping Trump takes him off our hands.

Long ago, while he was a rep, I watched Pence talk about wanting to privatize SS, and have people invest SS money in the market instead. When asked about what would happen if the stock market went down, Pence replied that the government should guarantee a certain rate of return. He didn't seem to know what a "morale hazard" or "moral hazard" was. Like I said, not very smart.
