Why are there so many Presidential candidates that flood the Republican pool?

Yet another person has thrown their hat in the ring, but, that doesn't seem to happen in the Democratic party.

Why?

Nothing about this election is typical of past years.

What do you mean? Seems to meet that is always the case. Dems get one candidate and stand behind them, and the free world wants to run on the Rep ticket!

they don't think democrats have a chance at retaining the White House?

After all

Hillary?
Sanders?
O'Malley?
Chaffee?

Possibly Biden?

There can never be enough clowns in the KKKlown Kar. Keep'em coming boys, LOL. This fiasco is going to give comedians enough material to last a lifetime.

But they will retain support because the Dems have more solidarity as a Party. The Repubs like to divide up and leave the door wide open for the Dems.

Actually it's reversed, usually it's the republicans with just a couple of candidates and the democrats with a crowd of candidates. It all changed about the time the tea party came along and the GOP lost it's legendary cohesion.

13-15 is a cozy number.

:D

Funny... but not.. it so annoying... and stupid!

Well, we are at 13.

Christie (lol) is jumping in next week. That will be 14.

And then there's Kasich (R-OH) and Walker (R-WI). That would be 15 and 16.

Without Christie, enough to fill a shortbus.

With Christie, better get a big 18-wheeler.

In all seriousness, such a bevy of candidates raises the danger that some stupid stuff will be said at the MANY GOP debates.

And unless a couple of them run into major massive mega serious money problems, I bet that they all stay in the race until at least the mid-March Florida/Ohio/Missouri primary date.

Someone said there are 13 running now.

By....May.... next year, it will be down to 3-4.

And Democrats may, or may not, have Hillary to 'worry' about.

Hey, Will, whassup, bud?

I agree that by May of 2016, the field will be winnowed down. My bet is that Santorum will be one of the first to leave the ring. Fiorina is so rich, she can stay to the end just to be an endless pain in the Hewlett Packard.

If Trumpy gets all Frumpy he can take his toupee dumpies and leave and mount his own independent campaign. :D And mebbe, just mebbe, he will...

But until we get back Florida/Ohio/Missouri in March, it's looking pretty crowded.

This clown 18-wheeler is going to provide us with hours of lasting entertainment.

Oh, and Hillary? I am glad to 'worry' about her, along with about 65% of all Democrats.

Bring it on, Bubba!

Democrats used to criticize republicans for simply running the guy who had the most seniority but now here they are doing the same shit.

I agree that there are two many, however look at it this way.
the republicans run so many because they want the voters to have an actual say in who gets the nomination
the democrats as a political party realize that their voting base is pretty much without any intellectual ability to know whats best for them, so the party decides early on who will run and who will not run.
Just makes it easier for the socialists to make sure they get the candidate that will do exactly what the party tells them.

If you look at the long and colorful electoral history of our great Union, you will find that it is more complicated than that.

Information is power, young Obiwan.
