More conservatives need to start teaching in our high schools. My brother did it in L.A.

One good first step might be to remove the high barriers to transitioning, mid-career, into teaching.

An engineer who wants to be a high school math teacher will have to take several courses and student-teach, basically taking a year off from "life," with no income, in the hope of someday capturing an entry-level teaching job for - depending on the school district - $35-40 grand. This is absurd.
