Jaysh Al-Islam invited the government to negotiate the surrender of the group´s key stronghold, Douma. In response, aid has been sent and hostilities ceased.
If surrendered, this will signal the end of the "revolution" in Damascus.

"DAMASCUS, SYRIA (6:30 A.M.) - The town elders inside the Jaysh Al-Islam (Army of Islam) stronghold of Douma have reportedly reached out to the Syrian government and Russian military this week in to end the hostilities between them.

According to an Al-Masdar correspondent in Damascus, a joint Syrian and Russian military delegation arrived in Douma this week to discuss terms of reconciliation.

Previously, the militants inside Douma rejected the Syrian Army's offer to reconcile; however, due to their recent losses in the East Ghouta, the rebels have agreed to entertain the idea.

As a sign of good faith, the Syrian government sent humanitarian aid to the people of Douma this week, while also halting their military operations in the East Ghouta."

A bunch of "rebel" supporters demonstrated for the end of "rebel" infighting. The "rebels" shot at them indiscriminately.

"DAMASCUS, SYRIA - Residents of Zamalka in Eastern Ghouta went out in a large demonstration calling for the Muslim Brotherhood affiliated Faylaq Al-Rahman to end its tensions with the Salafist Jaish Al-Islam and to open new fronts against the government forces in Damascus.

Notably, the two aforementioned factions have a history of violent clashes and infighting in the tiny ultra-conservative bastion of Eastern Ghouta with over 750 men on both sides reportedly killed in the last battles between them a few months ago.

Unable to disperse the protests, Faylaq Al-Rahman rebels quickly began shooting indiscriminately at the demonstrators as seen in the video below:"

The army continues to advance:

"According to an Al-Masdar field correspondent, the 4th Mechanized Division, backed by the 7th Armored Division, captured several farms that were under the control of Jabhat Fateh Al-Sham (formerly Al-Nusra Front), resulting in the former's advance to Khan Al-Sheih.

Video footage of the Syrian Arab Army's advance was captured by Hezbollah's official media wing:"

Important gains are made by the army. They can have influence on the ongoing surrender negotiations with Jaysh al-Islam.

"Under the cover airstrikes, the Syrian Armed Forces managed to break-through Jabhat Fateh Al-Sham's front-lines, resulting in the capture of the entire southwestern axis of Khan Al-Sheih.

According to an Al-Masdar field correspondent in Damascus, the Syrian Arab Air Force played an integral role in Saturday's advance, as their relentless airstrikes destroyed at least three armored vehicles that possessed ATGMs (anti-tank guided missiles).

The Syrian Armed Forces renewed this large-scale in the West Ghouta region on Friday; this will be the government's top priority for the coming days as they continue to negotiate with Jaysh Al-Islam (Army of Islam) in the East Ghouta."

Golan "rebels" announced a major offensive to reach Damascus while "rebels" in Khan Al-Sheh started to concede the town.

"DAMASCUS, SYRIA (6:49 P.M.) - Al-Masdar's field correspondent in Damascus's countryside informed AMN that the militants of Khan Al-Sheh began the process of handing over their hostages and heavy equipment to the Syrian Army in line with a reconciliation agreement to relocate them tomorrow to Idlib.

An insider field source revealed that the fighters will hand over all the hostages which number 28 people, 11 of them being military personnel in addition to one officer.

The source added that scores of insurgents will have their cases settled under the presidential amnesty decree. Many civilians displaced from those towns in nearby towns under the control of the Syrian government have already begun preparing for their return to their homes."

"Yesterday, local Syrian Islamist rebels announced they would embark on a large-scale offensive from the Golan Heights in a bid to reach the outskirts of Damascus."

The process has finished and the whole West Ghouta is under government control.

"DAMASCUS, SYRIA - With the last jihadist elements arriving in Idlib from Khan Al-Sheh, the Syrian Armed Forces can now boast full dominance over Damascus's western depth.

Following this development, many units from the 1st, 4th, and 7th Divisions can now be relocated to more pressing fronts like the nearby Beit Jein pocket where a massive offensive is anticipated to begin soon.

Likewise, the Syrian Army's logistic capability is bound to improve in this sensitive part of the country as several important supply lines and highways ran through the Western Ghouta region."

Russia will support the Syrian army´s offensive in the East Ghouta with carrier based Su 33 and Kalibr cruise missiles, which are guided via GLONASS resp. GPS.

"The source added that satellite-guided “Kalibr” cruise missiles will also be involved in the campaign by targeting the main and most protected command posts of Jaysh al-Islam.

The prospected military operation comes as Islamist rebels rejected an evacuation agreement proposed by the Syrian government whereby Islamist fighters are relocated to the northwestern province of Idlib.

Hundreds of militants have been evacuated recently by similar deals, opening way for the Syrian government to expand its control around the capital.

Meanwhile, government troops continue to tighten the noose around Islamist rebels in Eastern Ghouta, now advancing toward Hawsh Shalaq – to the west of the recently-recaptured Mida'ani town – from two axes."

In the Eastern Ghouta Jaysh al-Islam has called on the other groups to end hostilities, the alternative would be death.

"BEIRUT, LEBANON (10:45 P.M.) - The Islamist rebels in the East Ghouta ended their year-long civil war after Jaysh Al-Islam called on their former allies to end the hostilities that have allowed the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) to capture large parts of this region in rural Damascus.

Jaysh Al-Islam delegates reportedly demanded rapproachment after sustaining heavy casualties and large territorial losses over the last three months in the East Ghouta.

Using their own losses as an example, Jaysh Al-Islam reportedly warned Jaysh Al-Fustat and Faylaq Al-Rahman of their fate if they do not accept rapproachment with their forces.

Recently, the three Islamist groups attempted to attack the Syrian Arab Army at the village of Al-Reyhan; however, this assault ended in disaster as their forces suffered a number of casualties.

Al-Masdar spoke to an officer from the Syrian Arab Army's 105th Brigade of the Republican Guard that asserted his forces will not let up the pressure on the Islamist groups in the East Ghouta."

"On Saturday, more than 600 militants in Zakiyah and Deir Khabiyah villages in West Ghouta region of Damascus province reconciled with Syrian government as per the offer made by the latter during negotiations over surrender of neighbouring town of Khan Al-Shih.

According to the presidential amnesty decree, all the militants who do not want to be evacuated to Idlib province turned in their weapons and can now return to peaceful live and labour activity as their legal status is settled."

The water crisis in Damascus didn´t end when after successful negotiations Brigadier General Ghadban (retired) was assassinated by the "rebels" on his way back. In addition to the water crisis, there is now also a heating crisis caused by ISIS.

"As a result of this attack on Saturday night, all peace talks in Wadi Barada have been suspended and the Syrian Arab Army will resume their siege on the final jihadist pocket in this rural area west of Damascus.

The retired general was a resident of 'Ayn Al-Fijeh and well-respected by both the rebels and government; his death was meant to halt the surrender of the area and block water from returning to the people of Damascus."
