Tariff announcements were made here and in China. The Chinese stock market is taking a bigger hit than the US markets. This is strange. The Chinese market does not usually send a stop being stupid message to Beijing. But either such a message is being sent or China is even more leveraged than assumed and will hit a very hard landing rather rapidly. What effects other than a buying opportunity market dip will the US feel?

The emigration numbers from China to Canada will tell us what wealthy Chinese think.

The only place China could hurt us is electronics.

They want to hurt us there but the leverage level in the Chinese economy combined with their shrinking Labor force is their biggest problem followed by their blatant racism. Those two problems put that goal of electronic domination out of effective reach.

Still that side of China that annoys its neighbors has been causing fairly regular collapses of China for more than 2,000 years. China is overdue for another dynastic collapse and this may trigger it. The emigration surge of their richest and smartest will speed up the collapse.

It's well known our interst payments are used to build their infastruture. So the more we build it attacks their economy. The stronger our dollar becomes the more it hurts them. They cannot afford to hurt us. We ARE their fiscal future.

Bought some McDonald's this morning just in case they expand to North Korea. Seems S. Korea has been turning profits for years.

Haven't noticed a thing re anything I buy. Don't sell anything to the Red Chinese, either.

What trade war??? .... All I hear is a bunch of sniveling among speculators and labor racketeers, nobody who matters to the real economy, just parasites.

They like California a lot better, judging from the high end real state market. The bigger houses make better indoor hydroponic pot farms to undercut the legal growers with, among other criminal enterprises and espionage operations of all kinds, especially industrial. Fraud operations also like them as fronts. Many are already set up as hotels for pregnant Asian women who want to have their children born here and thus get automatic citizenship, and then there are standard sex slave operations, too.

I'm not sure this will be a bad trade war for the US. With China torquing off all of its neighbors, agricultural smuggling and arms sales should do quite well. NK and Vietnam could do quite well.
