More evidence that the marginal consumer is financially strapped. Democrats cheer the basics of energy and food have skyrocketed saying it’s no big deal. Well, it’s a big deal for those barely getting by.

Democrats hate the poor, part 49,452.

“One of the key reasons for this is because Dollar General’s core customers are feeling the acute pressure of the cost-of-living-crisis,” Neil Saunders, retail analyst and managing director at GlobalData, said in a report Thursday.

“This has been exacerbated by cuts in SNAP payments as temporary pandemic benefits came to an end. As a result, lower-income shoppers are cutting back on non-consumable and indulgent purchases from the chain in a bid to save money,” he said.

 
Not when the labor market is strong.
It is? It's actively slowing down, and we continue to see revisions, in the red, for the last couple of months. How about those full-time jobs? It's a slow gas leak, we've already seen 3 consecutive months of decline that got redefined as a "transition" and now labor, a trailing indicator, is not showing positive results.

3.5% UE is now down from 3.6% in June.
 
5 percent UR is considered 'full employment'. Anything less means unfilled positions.
