Obama Speech: Pre-Outcry

The President: Greetings Little Comrades -- I’m here with students at Wakefield High School in Arlington, Virginia.

While your parents may think of you as average students and an extra mouth to feed and are happy for the 6 hours you're out of their hair while you're in school, I consider you important to my cause of perfecting the American Union and I'm glad you've decided to join me in this Sacred Covenant.

We want a hard generation that is strong, reliable, loyal, obedient and decent, so that we do not need to be ashamed. You young people stand here on the threshold of their lives. Until now you have been a child. If you misbehaved, you did not have to bear the responsibility. Your father or mother made good the damage, and they forgave you. Now you will increasingly encounter people, mostly Republicans, who will not forgive your bad behavior as your mother and father did. But now's your chance to get even!

When you're in the car, do you parents ever turn off your favorite song so they can listen to talk radio? If you'd rather hear Black Eyed Peas than Rush Limbaugh all you have to do is send me an email to: [email protected]. It's that simple!

Though I was born in Mombasa Kenya, when I was your age, I was enrolled at a Wahabi Madrassa in Indonesia. I worked hard and once it became obvious that there is nothing I wouldn't do for the Glory of the State, that's when important people in the Islamist movement took notice of me and my career took off!

Yes, if you are a good soldier you too can have a person like Khalid Monsour get you into Harvard and pay for your entire education. If you do as I tell you, you too can have a rich, rewarding life where you can partner with God to make Life and Death decision over people. Yes You Can!

Yes We Can!

Yes We Can!

I'm asking you now to take this sacred blood oath with the person next to you. Find a knife or a razor and cut open your palm. It need not be a deep would, but remember that the classroom is monitored and we will check to see who among you is the most sincere and who is faking and may secretly be a Republican (Sound track of Boooooos! and Hisses).

Once you've got a good blood flow take the bleeding hand of the person next to you and repeat after me:

We are comrades for life,

We respect every citizen who is ready to give his life for our new Perfected Union, and I must strive to become such a soldier in Obama's Army.

Yes We Can!

Yes We Can!

Yes We Can!

Fascinating.

If only people who wrote such drivel put as much effort into actually helping to DO SOMETHING about our failing education system. Too much to ask from an already FAILED society of loud-mouthed Neanderthals. Pathetic.

Idiocracy: Not just a Movie Anymore

The SECOND I hear that lop eared buffoon speaking, I can't get to my remote to either change the channel or mute it fast enough. Sometimes I'm a little slow or fumble the remote, and throw up a little in my mouth.

I will put my observation response study aside for just a moment to ask you what you see as the primary failings of the education system - and how best to remedy those failings.

This is a subject of critical importance, so I am actually very interested to hear your take - if it is in fact sincere.

Thank you!

I watched it. Personal Responsibility. You are what you make of yourself. Good presentation.

Personal responsibility. It appears LiarFrank could have learned a thing or two...

him and a few others....

i watched it with my son (who goes back to school tomorrow)...

he said it was a great speech. he said he really likes the president. and THAT is what the loons were scared of.

then he asked me, "isn't the debate team nerdy"?

my response...so? it doesn't matter if it is or isn't.... if it's something you like and are good at, then you should do it. and most of the people you see who are successful were nerds..... so who cares?"

dungeon and dragons is out of the question, however.

We had the captain of the football team on our debate team in high school. After graduating, he joined the Marine Corps, then went to college and is now an architect. Our HS reunion is coming up, and he's enticing me to post some information on FaceBook like some of my other classmates. Twoud be interesting, for sure. But none of us considered ourselves "nerds." We did what we were best at.

Uh, yeah...here's the thing about Frank.

He attended public skoool in da Bronx prolly before you were born and remember that the Principal de facto OWNED the school and knew EVERY parent of every student, that was just before the time the Federal Gubbamint decided the only way they could continue to get voters to support the Democrat party was to destroy the educational system.

That, of course, says nothing. You might want to tell us HOW the DemocraTIC Party destroyed your educational system. From my perch, it seems like something was failing you long before you could blame it on Democrats. Did you actually have a de facto principal (an assumed, temporary appointment), or a de facto owner (some local yokel who annoited him/herself the job)? Whoever it was, did you like him? I can't tell by your bland statement which seems unrelated to the rest of your comment.

NO!
I didn't watch it, and neither did my kids. They attend a private school that refused to show it. And that's the way it should be!

Of course, private schools that do not receive any public funding have the right to show whatever the hell they want.

But, since the president's message did not include anything related to "Socialism" or indoctrination into any political propaganda, there are a whole bunch of people out there that made slanderous comments and owe Mr Obama an apology.

Tell Obama to stick that apology up his skinny, liberal, communist black ass!

Tell Obama to stick that apology up his skinny, liberal, communist black ass!

And does anyone wonder why right-wing nutjobs are WRONG in 90% of their "predictions"?

You people just make up a bunch of shit and then pray to God some of it sticks.

That's your whole party platform. You have NOTHING to contribute to society except a bunch of BS propaganda.

G-No-P = Party of Hate.

I still think it fair to ask the President, particularly in the context of telling kids to work hard - why he supported kicking poor students out of the private school Obama's own kids have the privilege of attending...

You answered your own question, you know.

Quite right - the poor are forced into one option - the public school.

The wealthy have choice.

Why are liberals so willing to subsidize foot stamps, rent assistance, cash for clunkers, college tuition, etc - but not something so essential as the K-12 education of a child? Why advocate educational disadvantage for the disadvantaged?

I can afford to send my children to private school - but most cannot. My children have educational opportunity - but most do not. At the nearest private school in my area, just over 80% of graduates go on to university. At the nearest public school in the area, it is less than 40%.

College graduates, over a lifetime, earn nearly a million dollars more than a high school graduate. So by supporting Obama's elimination of choice, by kicking out lower income children who were succeeding in the private school his own children attend, you are advocating a caste system of education that directly contributes to keeping the generational poor down, and thus dependent upon continued governmental assistance. Such a system is far from "progressive" ...

Do you find that acceptable?

I don't suppose it would ever occur to you that there aren't enough private schools to accommodate the millions of under-achieving kids in public schools, even those with high potential.

You Republicans love free enterprise over government intervention so much, then get busy and build some private schools. Unfortunately, you are ALWAYS all talk and no action.

The SECOND I hear that lop eared buffoon speaking, I can't get to my remote to either change the channel or mute it fast enough. Sometimes I'm a little slow or fumble the remote, and throw up a little in my mouth.

What else is new? You're always regurgitating something out of that cess pool.

So now that the speech has been made, the majority of Americans are laughing at the right wing loons trotted out non-stop on Fox News with their indoctination rants.

But they will just move onto their next Obama conspiracy theory

Good thing too. You might have gotten cooties!!!
Speaking of cooties!
When is that AIDS going to finally kill your ass?

Hmmm, considering that my demographic has fewer cases than any other demographic including yours...maybe I should be asking YOU that question. LOL indeed.

Briefly --

-- I think most states get the majority of their public school funding from property taxes, which (surprise surprise), I believe is unfair. Renters only pay their portion (albeit a small one) if an owner-landlord increases the rent proportionately to cover property taxes). In effect, property owners are subsidizing all students. The states have wrangled with this problem for decades, and it's become clear that they cannot otherwise find the money to do it alone and maintain the level of education required today. So I think the federal government needs more involvement, in addition to the block grants. BUT

-- Federal money should not be just doled out with no accountability. Therefore, it needs to get involved in a standardized curriculum by a realistic expansion of NCLB, but not just testing which relies on existing teaching tools often worlds apart from community to community.

-- My experience has been that school boards are ineffective. They pit neighbor against neighbor, child against child, party preference interferes, along with a plethora of other issues amounting to bitchfests which often cause schools to delay opening until they mediate their personal problems with annual budgets. There should be fixed budget items to be voted upon in order to keep a school operating properly for a budget year. If there is money left over, THEN the school board members can duke it out over who gets what for extra-curricular activities. Schools are primarily for LEARNING, not football teams or drama clubs.

-- I think dedicated teachers who stick around beyond the first two years deserve to be rewarded with merit increases in their contracts. Unfortunately, with the average starting salary of $50,000 (or less) and the working day for a teacher 12 hours, plus their own ongoing education (which goes on in the summer, too), many new teachers give it up when their efforts are unappreciated. The AFT needs to get behind the merit process and do away with tenureship as the means for a teacher to realize recognition and a working wage. There needs to be an honest teacher performance evaluation process, one in which the teachers' union is not involved.

That's enough for now. I haven't even addressed the abhorrent conditions of some of the school structures where both students and teachers are expected to function properly.

I found when I was in HS that the district ONLY got the budget passed if they threatened to cut the sports program. The voters in general don't care as much about anything else as they do the sports.

Yawn--It's all this President does---speech after speech--after speech. Nothing new about that.

In fact--one way that would be considered non-torture to get enemy combatants to talk would be to make them watch every speech Obama has ever given.
