This contradicts his State O' The Union address during which he called for opening new areas to offshore drilling. It will be interesting when industry reaction hits the news wires.
We are the only nation on earth that prohibits drilling of the outer continental shelf areas. Will it effect gas prices? Most likely not- there's plenty of crude worldwide. Besides, is that the objective- to keep gasoline and heating oil prices low?
Yep, it sure is a contradiction. Specifically: "But to create more of these clean energy jobs, we need more production, more efficiency, more incentives. And that means building a new generation of safe, clean nuclear power plants in this country. It means making tough decisions about opening new offshore areas for oil and gas development..."
Just more great oratory from Barry. Tell 'em what they wanna hear, but then do whatever you damn please. In other words give 'em some hope, but then change.
