now i sit and listened to the entire debate, and the bookends of it has to do with kaine's religion, and he's explaining all that about how he has to separate his church from his state, and it's rather ugly. he's suffering a terrible case of cognitive dissonance about it all, but he's desperate to present that mental defect as if it's the most wonderful thing about america. basically, if you hold such strong religious conviction, but the teachings of your church goes against what the state law is, you should have enough good sense to recuse yourself from government until such time as either your religion changes to fit the state law or the state law changes to fit your religion. to do otherwise, it's sickening.
