    On June 26th 2010 the seeds of a voluntary society were sown in Lancaster New Hampshire. Participants in the annual Porcupine Freedom Festival held a signing ceremony to inaugurate their founding document, The Shire Society Declaration, which some have called a new declaration of independence.

    Huh? "...measuring our conduct toward one another, and toward others." Wouldn't the "others" be included in "toward one another"?

    I don't think so. Because this is a declaration from signatories to non signatories. So others means non signatories. Members of the Shire Society are announcing how they intend to treat each other and members of other societies.

    Yes... like all constitutions and declarations it is only a statement of intent.
