The Gantz Megillah.

So much for diplomacy: how can they recognize a state that doesn't exist? If Israel stopped hunting down Hamas in the West Bank, the PA would quickly be overrun by Hamas and Israel would be forced to wage war in the West Bank just as it had to in Gaza. Until the so called Palestinians decide to live in peace with Israel, a Palestinian state is simply not feasible.
The Arab Palestinians will have to learn how to live peacefully with Israel. Israel will have to find a way to recognize the Palestinian state in the 1967 borders.

That was the land for peace program Israel offered after the Six Day War and eventually Egypt and Jordan accepted it, but the Palestinians have repeatedly rejected a state only in the territories and continue to demand all of Israel for their state so the notion of two states living side by side no longer has any validity. If the Palestinians ever decide they want to live in peace with Israel, it will be because they have decided to love their children more than they hate Israel/Jews, not because some people are too stupid to be able to see the two-state solution is not feasible.

What was half a century ago is not relevant. This issue should be resolved once and for all. The Palestinians should accept Israel's existence. And Israel should accept the Palestinian state.

If not, this mess will be lasting for decades. The 'autonomy' causing troubles for all the region. And Israel becoming a 'new' pre-1990s South Africa in international relations, in the best case (considering that the US support will continue).

Try to keep up. The PA last turned down the two state solution in 2008 and Hamas made it clear it would not stop attacking Israel in 2017. There is no evidence of any substantial group among the Palestinians that wants to live in peace with Israel and clearly there is no rational basis for believing there will be in the foreseeable future.

Great. Then this mess for another number of decades, with the Arab territories becoming centers of poverty and radicalism, and with Israel becoming a pariah state. Why not, after all? This also can be considered as a form of solution.

People said the same thing after Sharon broke the back of the second intifada, and for a short time Israel was a pariah state, but under Netanyahu's guidance Israel's standing in the international relations improved beyond what it had been before. The conflict continues because there has never been a moment since 1920's when the Palestinians have been willing to live in peace with Israel/Jews.

Or yeah, so improved that he may be barred from entering 120 or so nations in the near future.

A comes before B. It was that way before October 7. After? Well...

I feel as though people oversell the idea of a "pariah" state. Especially as a deterrent for defending your citizens from atrocities. While there is a certain appeasement of some categories of society, it still seems as though emboldening terrorists groups and governments isn't exactly a goal to be embraced. And I don't think that has slipped everyone's mind.

Much improved until the Oct 7 attack which stirred up much antisemitism just as Sharon's defeat of the second intifada did in 2002. Back then, various European courts issued arrest warrants for Israeli officials, too, but all that has passed and all this current nonsense will pass, too, because it serves no one's interests.

Maybe the time will prove as wrong, those overselling this idea. And Israel will embarrass us by showing an example of how to deal with terrorism and integrate hostile territories. Though, it is not clear what a plan is of how to deal with several millions of hostile population there, but okay.

Yeah. Well, no one thought we could build a State out of the ashes of the Holocaust. Nor win the 1948 war. The 1967 war. The 1973 war. The BDS movement. The First Intifada. The Second Intifada. The October Massacre. Yet here we are. And this time, it seems we have at least some of the Arab States willing to contribute. So.

Oh, I was almost sure that you live in Canada. Being based on your avatar picture.

I thought you were a monarchist?

Should that whole place just revert back to the line of kings?

Saul was the last and only King that was ordained by God.

David was a traitor that killed Saul & his son.

Did Saul have other sons? If so, then it's their descendants that are the true blood line of Israeli kings.

While the Bible suggests they were wiped out by the Israelites under Joshua in the land of Canaan, later passages appear to contradict this and state that there were survivors. Some Biblical scholars have argued the passages describing the Canaanites wholesale destruction are hyperbole and inconclusive, and the genetic research would indeed appear to indicate the slaughter was much less extensive than described.

There's no evidence that the Canaanites were wiped out.

Byblos, in fact, is probably the most famous of the Canaanite cities even if one has never heard of it. The name of the Bible comes from the Greek word byblos for 'Book', a reference to the city which supplied the surrounding nations with papyrus. Tyre was another great industrial center producing highly sought-after garments colored by the purple dye of Murex shells and the city of Sidon, also engaged in similar trade, was a great center of learning. The rivalry between Tyre and Sidon ensured high-quality products from both until Tyre eventually monopolized the textile business.

Jimmy Carter paid Egypt for peace.

So if the Palestinians don't give up their land to foreign refugees they don't love their children?

That is stupid in so many ways. Egypt came to Israel looking for peace because Sadat realized that continued war would bring nothing but suffering for the Egyptian people, and in return Egypt got the land it has lost to Israel, Sinai.

All the Palestinians can hope to gain from continuing this war against Israel is more suffering for the Palestinian people and according to their own polls, that is just fine with them so if they cared about their children, they would stop sacrificing them in their puny wars.
