That's what we will be praying for. It will get challenged and if all goes the way it should, this will be overturned. However, I take nothing for granted anymore!

Well, at least the people who wrote that bill can define "assault weapon," unlike every Democrat who has testified about wanting to ban assault weapons.

The legislation further defines assault weapons as “semiautomatic rifles with an overall length of less than 30 inches; conversion kits and parts that can be used to assemble an assault weapon or convert a firearm into an assault weapon, if the parts are in the possession of or under the control of the same person; semiautomatic centerfire rifles that have the capacity to accept a detachable magazine and have one or more additional features listed in the bill; semiautomatic centerfire rifles with a fixed magazine with the capacity to accept more than ten rounds; semiautomatic pistols that have the capacity to accept a detachable magazine and have one or more additional features listed in the bill; semiautomatic shotguns that have one or more additional features listed in the bill.”

When the Feds, California and New York "banned assault weapons," it led manufacturers to modify sporting rifles so that their appearance was changed, but not their firepower. The Dems let the federal ban expire, seeing what a failure it was.

The same will happen here, unless the states do not put expiration dates on their new laws.

There is a good-sized contingent of Washington gun owners who do not register. I recall seeing them demonstrate at Olympia a few years ago and, although it wasn't thousands of people, it was a significant crowd.
