because ... " everybody works differently " { Gary Merrill }
" yeah but not eveybody wants to understand " { Richard Widmark }
Good black & white and historical account of UD-4 {Underwater Demolition
" frogmen " } who saw combat in Saipan,Guam,the Philippines and Okinawa }.
Great cast and a lot of emotional big talk.
I like movies with men who engage in Big Talk.Like Clary Gable and
Spencer Tracy.
One could make the case that Donald Trump is one of them kinda guys.
But most Big Talking guys aren't so persinckety about their hair.
Trump did go to Military School.I doubt we'll see him anytime soon
in a skimpy men's bathing jockey on some beach.
I think he would rather just buy some beach.
His thinking ... Life is but a Beach.

My brother and I saw that movie at the time (I was 11, my brother was 12). We went out and bought masks and flippers and pretended to be frogmen. Kids often reenacted movie hero's actions right after seeing a movie back in the day.

It's on TCM right now, to be followed by Sink the Bismarck!

Me, I'm putting on Band of Brothers like I do every year...

For context I drug-out a DVD of Lloyd Bridges 50's TV series
- Sea Hunt -. Back in the day it was quite popular.But it was
so-so B & W and the film quality was not anything state of the art.
Plus the sound was kinda lacking.
I thought it sucked.I was disappointed.
But back in the 50's it was Hit.BTW ... Lloyd Bridges never
materialized as any leading man.But he did try.Sometimes
actors are characterized early-on in their career.Bridges did
have some choice roles like in - High Noon -.
Funny how that stuff works.Even though Beau Bridges is a better actor
than younger sibling Jeff,he was ofen passed over once Jeff was
considered HoT.
I have a copy of Lloyd Bridges - The Loner - '65-66 TV series.
He has according to IMDB { 216 actor credits } rather remarkable.
Considering Jeff Bridges has less than 100 { 93 }
Lloyd died from natural causes.

Even though quite British - Sink the Bismark - is a very
good movie.I like the anticipation of when the Bismark is
being watched before it's Hit.

Trump is my age. Guys our age don't go to the beach with skimpy men's swimming jockeys.

Um ... How many guys Trump's age fuss over their
long locks of Orange hair.I mean,not even Retired WWF heahliners.

5 will getcha 10 that I bet you never knew that acting
great James Stewart actually wore { used } a toupee.
If you look real careful in some of the Hitchcock greats like
- Vertigo - and - The Man who Knew Too Much - Even
- Rear Window - Stewart's hair was always perfectly in place.
No matter - Bell,Book and Candle - or - The Flight of the Phoenix -.
Where he wore a cap.
