Not jesusland
The only congressman present at the beginning of the hearing was the person running it: Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D).

The other three attendees were, in order of appearance: Connecticut Sen. Chris Murphy, Maryland Rep. John Delaney and Maryland Rep. Elijah Cummings. All four are Democrats.

NO republicans showed up! What a surprise! they must have been busy with other important stuff like trying to pass nipple laws and fighting the implementation of sharia laws in bug snot Mississippi and dog stool Alabama!

My guess is that the Democrats wish to hire more government workers and find ways to raise tax revenue to do that.

Hearings on unemployment? What a joke. What will come of that? More finger pointing?

Throughout the 2010 campaign cycle, Republicans capitalized on the struggling economy to bolster their case for election, promising to focus all their political efforts on job creation. Yet when the GOP assumed the majority in the House of Representatives, it quickly became clear that their "top political priority" — as Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) admitted — was to "deny President Obama a second term." As such, the GOP, particularly in the House, has spent its legislative time on anything and everything but legislation to help the struggling economy get back on its feet or to spur job creation. Instead, they've introduced bill after bill on hot-button issues, particularly women's reproductive health

The Unemployment rate is part of the Federal Reserve's Dual Mandate of:

Low Inflation
Low Unemployment

Is it asking too much for Americans to actually understand their System of Government? Apparently so.

The seeds of our employment problems were sown year after year, decade after decade by BOTH PARTIES.

Now suddenly they give a shit?
