So you are saying we need to again be imperial policemen.The gulf war was flawed at concept as it laid the groundwork for what was to follow that three presidents have been unable to solve.
In all due respect THREE Presidents? A permanent basic needs to be installed in Iraq just like South Korea, Germany and Japan.
I reject this, the Koreans are not peasant farmers now as they were in 1950 and have more then enough money and manpower to defend themselves.
The same is true of Germany and Japan, the USA has no need of these 'bases' WWII is long over, as is the cold war.
Thse police actions do us little good, as the years go by the host countries resent US bases on their territory and they become the focal point of anger.
I believe in George Washington's wise wordson leaving the continental army, 'avoid foreign entanglements.'
