Put this teacher in charge of the Texas education dept. Then you'll see test scores go up. Right now we're flooded with ignorant immigrants who are holding our kids back.

Also, I don't know if they're holding our kids back. What children of illegals ARE doing is taking resources from American kids for which their parents do not pay. And often, those resources cost more than American kids' do. For just one example, English as a Second Language.

I said she didn't play it right or say it right. She is hired by the school district to teach the student who pass by her classroom door. That's it. When she named her district and contacted ANYONE to say "students here are illegal"--who are her students--she was acting outside of her purview. She is totally within her right to oppose illegal immigration however as a policy, and could not have been fired or punished for that.

1) Undocumented families are paying taxes, too.
2) Are you arguing that the quality of education should be based on how much your family pays in taxes? What about poor people? They aren't paying all that much in taxes, if they are part of Mitt Romney's famous 47%.
3) ESL is a great idea. Teach these kids English, they'll be self-supporting when they become adults. This is a good thing.

There was nothing heroic about the Alamo. A bunch of Americans were invited into Texas, and they tried to seize power. They were only asked to do two things when they were invited. They had to convert to Catholicism and they couldn't own slaves, because Mexico had outlawed slavery.

They couldn't even meet those two low standards.
