Tea Party leaders and Republican leaders are some of the most unpatriotic...

Tea Party leaders and 2001-Current Republican leaders are some of the most unpatriotic Americans who have ever been in office.

There, I said it.

Instead of reducing the argument down to a simplistic "Republicans are this, Democrats are that" argument, how about we just call out ALL of the Unpatriotic Congresspeople/Presidents and leave the party labels behind.

On 1/1/2012 at 12:00am Barack Obama signed the NDAA 2012 Act (sneaky bastard) which made it legal for him to detain US citizens - who are determined to be "terrorists" - indefinitely. This is blatantly Unconstitutional. He claimed he had "great reservations" about that section but had no choice but to sign to ensure military funding. In June of that year a district judge ruled the indefinite detention clause Unconstitutional (obviously) because as Americans we have a right to a trial by a jury of our peers.

Obama, despite the fact that funding had already been granted by this point, swooped in like a wicked little bird and forced an appeal of the decision. He (basically) said that it is essential that this provision remain in place. I call that about as Unpatriotic as it gets.

Again, lets not try to simplify the argument here; there are many Unpatriotic pieces of sh$t on both sides of the aisle and no one should get a free pass because of some worthless "party" designation. They are meaningless. There are good Republicans just as there are good Democrats.

He could not of done anything else and gotten re-elected.

Not signing the Patriot Act would have branded him a far left ideologue. And the NDAA was a poison pill. Obama was against it, but eventually signed for the very same reason.

but Dean says the left is where all the educated people are.....how can a bunch of uneducated morons be light years ahead?.....
They invest in right-wing media infrastructure, the left does not.

The right completely dominates in every form of media...

- from the O'Reilly Factor and Fox on cable TV
- to Pumpkin-head and Savage on radio
- to Little Green Footballs on the internet

...the right gets their message out 24/7 on a constant basis.

The left is no where near that. Just look what happened to Air America.

This is one of the things the right could teach the left.

The pathetic part is that you actually believe that tripe. Only recently has fox managed to climb to the top of the ratings charts. Previously, liberal thought was king in virtually ALL of televisions messaging. Now, you only lack a liberal slant over a single channel and you are complaining. You know why fox gets such good ratings? Because there is no competition. They are the SOLE conservative view out there. Radio the conservatives have though liberals are also represented on the radio to a lesser degree than conservatives. Print media is firmly in the liberal’s court and the internet – don’t make me laugh. Liberals have a huge advantage there and always have. The democrats are far better and faster at integrating new tech into their messaging. It likely has something to do with the age disparity that liberals tend to draw – the younger crowd is more liberal than conservative.

No...it's part and parcel with Liberal ideology.

Liberals embrace change.
Conservatives abhor it.

Sneaky indeed. Singed it on a Friday night late after the media and everyone else had left for the weekend. Also added that pesky 'in peacetime' clause

Obama was not against the NDAA, but rather he supported it as a whole, just had some issues with some of its provisions.

Not signing the Patriot Act would have branded him a far left ideologue. And the NDAA was a poison pill. Obama was against it, but eventually signed for the very same reason.

So you're accusing Obama of selling his soul for political purposes. You're right of course, Obama has no morals, no ethics, no principles, and his policy is whatever furthers his agenda to transfer The United States into some kind of Marxist Socialistic Nation.

That you support him is evidence that you also have no soul, no principles, no morals, and are a slobbering moron!

Hi Sallow, to be honest I actually accepted Obama’s reasoning when he said that he had no choice but to sign to pass essential military funding. That in a way made sense to me at the time. Here’s what he said at the time of signing:

“I have signed the Act chiefly because it authorizes funding for the defense of the United States and its interests abroad, crucial services for service members and their families”

He also CLEARLY NOTED:

“The fact that I support this bill as a whole does not mean I agree with everything in it. In particular, I have signed this bill despite having serious reservations with certain provisions that regulate the detention, interrogation, and prosecution of suspected terrorists.”

Given these statements, why on earth would his administration swoop in to DEFEND its right to hold US Citizens indefinitely when the Constitutionality of the section 1021 was being questioned by Federal District Judge Forrest? The funding was passed, and the only thing that was being questioned was indefinite detention, the same area of the bill that he had earlier expressed “serious reservations” about and specifically said that his Administration would not use because it would “break with our most important traditions and values as a Nation”?

An explanation – from anyone – would be appreciated.

Kind of like MSNBC doing now.

There is alot of claim about obama and dems being unpatriotic, but lets dissect this a bit.

First up, The Patriot Act and it's predasessors.

Combating Terrorism Act of 2001 - Introduced by Republican Senators Orrin Hatch (R-UT) and Jon Kyl (R-AZ) with Democratic Senators Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) and Chuck Schumer (D-NY)

Next, the Public Safety and Cyber Security Enhancement Act - It was introduced by Republican Rep. Lamar Smith (R-TX).

Now the Financial Anti-Terrorism Act - It was introduced by Republican Representative Mike Oxley (R-OH)

Mitt Romney Presidential Campaign -
In July 2012, David H.
