Which tax cuts stimulate the economy? | Tax Break

“Almost all of the stimulative effect of tax cuts,” Zidar found, “results from tax cuts for the bottom 90 percent. A one percent of GDP tax cut for the bottom 90 percent results in 2.7 percentage points of GDP growth over a two-year period. The corresponding estimate for the top 10 percent is 0.13 percentage points and is insignificant statistically.”

From the nations experiance, 2001 to present, I would have to say that the tax cuts on the very wealthy have actually been counterproductive in terms of the economy.

We really need to go back to the Clinton tax schedule for all those making less than one million, and add an additional 5% for those making more than one million annually. And then spend the increase wisely. Reduce the deficit, and start upgrading our infrastructure.

"Owen M. Zidar, a graduate economics student at the University of California at Berkeley, and a former staff economist on the White House Council of Economic Advisers for President Obama..."

With his background and stellar track record, who can argue against him?

There's a study right from the annals of "No Shit Sherlock". Those of us not in the top 1% of income earners have known that for 30+ years now.

Are Diet Drinks More Harmful Than Regular Sodas? | LIVESTRONG.COM

So which is worse regular or diet? Depends on what day they wake up as to which one is worse, part of that liberal study based "science"

idiot.

the right hates sceince remember?

nope, we have pseudo science, which is science involving studies, that aint the same as physics and chemistry, which we like. Liberals love to make studies show what they want them too.

They're both bad, but for different reasons. One is bad for the sugar...but at least it is a real thing, not a chemical. That's what makes the other bad. Drink juice or water...this country is too fucking fat anyway.

Ok so they have been counter productive, how exactly?
And I have a question, why do people who advocate higher taxes not pay them?
Oh and another question, why did Obama and the liberals not raise them?

Raise everyones taxes and lets get that 49% who pay no Fed taxes on board. Everyone should have skin in the game.

We also need to get rid of tax breaks, subsidies, tax loopholes, the EIC and start contributing all the taxes to the Govt.

Give the Clowns in Congress more money to spend.

I'm sure they will do a stand up job on spending it.

You're a fucking loon, you hate real science and like the made up kind. I bet you love eugenics, sociology, psycology and all these studies, here is a clue, they arent science.

Oh and Santorum was being sarcastic, but you wouldnt know that, you're too stupid to pick up on that nuance

Or we cant get the federal government out of the tasks it was never designed to do. If we did that we wouldnt need all those federal taxes, and we could leave the decsion to provide such programs to the states, where they belong.

At that point people could "vote with thier feet" and decide 1) If they desire such level of government intervention and 2) are they willing to pay for it.

Hmmmmm
A grad student who worked in the Obama White House, publishing a study funded by an organisation whose board of directors is made up entirely of fourth string Keynesian/statist hacks.
Even the linked story indicates their hesitance to publish over this guy's links.
Golly, its not like the results were pre determined or anything....

I see , so the scumbags inside the DC beltway should continue intervening in the economy, suffocating confiscatory taxation and massive regulations.

Yo Vern, who the fucketh is going to bail us out when we finally crash?

Oh, wait that is actually what you fuckers want , a pretext to completely nationalize the economy, implement socialism and abolish outright the US Constitution.
