But it wasn’t enough. Target has no choice but to shut down its storefront locations in San Francisco, Portland, New York City, and Seattle.
The company will close one store in New York City’s Harlem neighborhood, two locations in Seattle, three stores in the San Francisco-Oakland area and three more in Portland, Oregon. The discounter said it will shutter the stores for good on Oct. 21.


“We cannot continue operating these stores because theft and organized retail crime are threatening the safety of our team and guests, and contributing to unsustainable business performance,” Target said in a news release.

Target was unable to stop a suspect who walked out the door with $1143 worth of merchandise. East NRT officers were in the area and he caught their eye. Once contacted he ran and fought with police before being arrested. He’ll be facing multiple felony charges.

The way they put everything behind glass, can you just tell the clerk in the front what you want to buy, they can fetch it for you and bring it to the front?

Looks convenient just to tell some Target geek what you want and avoid the aisles alltogether.

I always like Family Dollar in the hood. They had a continuous loop on the PA system of the store reminding shoppers that shoplifting was against local law.

Of course, they couldn't play that recording in California.

Blue shitholes who can't or won't take on crime will find themselves devoid of decent options. I don't know if these all have pharmacies and groceries but if they do that's a big hit. Maybe they ought to appreciate their red customers more instead of insulting em cause they are going to have more clout as this continues
