Sympathy for the Devil?

What the Bush Administration knew and what they told Congress (in effect what they told the American people) did not match up with all those protocols, which were merely window dressing for the torturous acts.

Torture, as I have said now for the fourth time, is using physical pain as a means of interrogation. We used the same method Japanese war criminals used against American POWs during World War II. We were able to recognize torture in 1945. Why can't you recognize it in 2014?
The torture defenders have decided a couple of Bush appointed lawyers had the authority to change the definition of torture set by decades of precedent established by decades of courts and military tribunals. The public officials defending the activity are the ones who implemented and executed it or have interest in protecting those officials. Nobody in the world believes that the US did not torture captives.
ROFLMNAO! I do SO adore the sweeter ironies.

Your concession is duly noted and summarily accepted.
Your lame response of editing my post and leaving out the links is duly noted. Kind of weaselly and cowardly, don't you think?
More assertion without proof.
Proof? I see three words of my post. If it wasn't edited were is the rest of it?

Try clicking on the words "click to expand"!
I was referring to post #347 where mr. keys physically deleted the body of my post and only quoted the first three words.

There is a quote feature than allows you to highlight any words you like and only reply to those. How do you know he didn't use that instead?

I don't, and I didn't know about that feature. It doesn't make a difference to me how he edited my post. I didn't know that was acceptable to edit peoples post.

I didn't know that was acceptable to edit peoples post.

I haven't edited your post right now either. Instead I simply highlighted the last sentence and clicked on the Reply pop up and you can see that it just copied over the last sentence.

Your original post is still there and nothing has changed. The link in my post next to where it says "Camp" with the up arrow will take you back to your unedited post.

Love for the Bush administration isn't true love. It is disguised embarrassment. You fuckers can't bring yourselves to admit what you helped being about.

Baseless conjecture, of the vacuous nature isn't reason. It is undisguised idiocy. The only way we 'brought about' any of it, was by not marching on DC during the Clinton regime, frog marching Bubba and his cult out of the Whitehouse and replacing them with Americans and their policies with American Policy.

Do we regret not doing so? You bet... . But no more so than we regret allowing you who elected them, to vote.

But hey, what are a free people to do? Right? Ya let idiots vote and you're going to suffer the consequences of idiocy.

we did not get the intelligence you think we got. Reading the report rather than reacting in some Sadistic zeal would change the picture for you. Do you have the willingness and the ability to really read the report?

We also know that torture is a crime. The United States signed the treaty. Are you in favor of breaking the law?

We know that Japanese war criminals were charged with torture of American POWs. Are you in favor of committing the same war crimes as our enemies?

We realize that Al Qeada and ISIS are ruthless, cruel and act with impunity. Do you favor abandoning American ideals and ethics and adopting the ethics and morals of savages? .
Have your ead the report? Who wrote that report? Should be an easy response.
Torture is a crime. What we did is not torture. It is interrogation. The Bush Administration carefully researched the parameters of torture vs interrogation and relied on expert opinion from their Justice Department (something Obama does not do) before setting out policy guidelines. You knew that, right?
Do you favor continued attacks by al Qaeda and other Islamic terrorist groups? How do you propose gathering intelligence to stop them if not by using humint?

Torture is a function of punishment, which may or may not serve a further purpose, such as gaining information.

It is in this very notion that the Left is dead ass wrong; they assume we were debriefing these prisoners, with a vengeance. We were not. We were making their life miserable, as a means to help them help us.

You see kids, they were more inclined to murder us. It seems they were indoctrinated to hate us. As a result they were not inclined to help us. So... we provided them with a couple of options.

- Continue to not help us and be VERY uncomfortable.

- Help us and comfort up.

As you saw with the death of Osama, KSM eventually took "DOOR #2!". As they all have... . As you would, as anyone you've ever met would.

The thing to recognize here is the deceptive nature of this 'Torture myth'. Its truly a subversive lie. Serving not just as a political wedge, but a political wedge that lends aid and comfort to our enemies.

The good news is that it serves as a beacon. Where ever we find the myth being perpetrated, we find one whose purpose is to aid and comfort our enemy, OKA: Our Enemy.

Now, that brings the answer to the most commonly asked question in the US Culture today: "How did our nation become so divided?" The answer to which is: "We allowed our enemy to have a voice, to promote their foreign ideas hostile to the principles that define and sustain our nation."

Simple stuff.

Nice fairy tale ...

She's speaking of the the irrelevant parts of her screed. This is because she lacks the intellectual means to understand the nature of cogency. Such is the nature of sub-humanity.

As fruitless as it usually is, it falls to humanity to help the lessor beings try to understand. Toward that end, I provide the following clue:

ellipsis: " ... " the omission from speech or writing of a word or words that are superfluous or able to be understood from contextual clues.

Mastertful bit of deflection and dissimulation.
Do you think sitting and asking nicely is going to produce actionable intelligence with committed terrorists?

Of course they do.

They are all handwringers and are more worred about what others think of them than getting intelligence to fight those bastards.

God forbid that we waterboard some dirtbag to get intelligence. All three of the "victim" of waterboarding survived and are probably still at that vacationland known as Gitmo unless, of course, if Barry let them go home to fight again.

Der.....no. You are wrong. It isn't a disagreement when you are wrong. It is you being wrong. Identify it accurately please.
Wow, your argument continues to be: Torture doesnt work because torture doesnt work. Here's a link to some asshole saying that as well.
Opinion is not fact. Repeat that sentence about 1000 times and then come back to us.

Torture is a function of punishment, which may or may not serve a further purpose, such as gaining information.

Hard to believe so may conservatives justify torture. Same ones who belong to the religious right

It's starting to make me fucking Ill. They are not only condoning it, but swear that anyone who thinks that this shit is beneath us is some kind of terrorist sympathizer.

It's downright fucking despicable; was wondering when the little bitches who were crying about "those meany drone strikes" where going to go back to calling people unpatriotic for standing up for human rights.

Sick and tired of the assholes on this site thinking with their AM radios - they don't truly have a side, only when the idiot wind blows them to one.

You dont. You cant. You just throw it out like it's truth. Because you cannot form an argument based on logic and facts and then defend it.
This might be because you are 18 years old and still a high school sophmore.

Oh, shut it all-fucking-ready.

Why can't you just argue the thread instead of insulting everyone?

Foxnews was on when I was in the gym today and it was the morning show with the 2 airheads and the blond. They were saying the dumbest things that you would expect to hear on a middle school playground in defense of illegal torture. Then they played a clip of Cheney calling the Senate Report "crap" even though he hadn't even bothered to read a single word of any part of it.

They live in a bubble where everyone but them are wrong. :cuckoo:

No American has ever condoned torture. Stressing the human body as a means to encourage honest discourse, from those prone toward deception... is not torture. No more than having to read this endless Leftist drivel is 'torture'.

BUT! Public advocacies which promote the comfort of terrorists, is DEAD CENTER within the concept: "Terrorist Sympathizer".

I am about fed up with reading the agonizingly pitiful insults from the right over this. It's like I'm back in the "but .. but .. BOOOSH" era of NO ONE being allowed to talk smack on the president.

I can still hear Bill O'LIELY now "It's unpatriotic to criticize the president in a time of war."

Jesus FUCKING Christ!

Yes.. you long ago celebrated your great concession. (She likes to pretend that she's put me on ignore... but she hasn't. She just lacks the means to compete, so she maintains the pretense.)

Well in Fairness, it's not like we have had a President since GW. The Brown Clown doesn't rate as such and at best it rises to nothing beyond the "Peasantpimp of the Union States".

And there's no potential point of pride in that mess.
