The decision to use Stockholm’s rabbit cadavers as bioenergy to warm Swedes living in Värmland doesn't sit well with Stockholm-based animal rights activists.

“Those who support the culling of rabbits surely think it’s good to use the bodies for a good cause. But it feels like they’re trying to turn the animals into an industry rather than look at the main problem,” Anna Johannesson of Vilda kaniners värn (‘Society for the Protection of Wild Rabbits’) told the local Vårt Kungsholmen newspaper.

I hope our gregbunny hasn't seen the article. He'll be traumatized!

My cousin lives in an old farmhouse in Denmark. They bought a commercial oven to heat their house. On really cold nights the family sleeps on the kitchen floor. And they are not poor.

God bless socialism.

"That's the most foul, cruel, and bad-tempered rodent you ever set eyes on! That rabbit's got a vicious streak a mile wide! It's a killer! He's got huge, sharp... er... He can leap about. Look at the bones! He's got nasty, big, pointy teeth!"

If she can learn to rev up her SAVE THE BUNNIES! rhetoric, Anna Johannesson may just be in line for a Nobel Peace Prize next year.

Burn the bunnies!!!
As long as they're not Playboy Bunnies. ( grin )

If the government is already killing the bunnies to keep the population down, then why not burn them to keep warm. Why waste a good dead bunny? If the folks can get a few BTU's, I say burn the bunnies!

The problem a rabbit in Sweden faces is the loss of non-human predators necessitated by human population. Without predation the rabbit population will multiply until they exhaust their resources, sort of an analogy for unchecked human population growth but no one wishes to go there, and either die of starvation or are culled by human predation. I would expect that wild rabbit flesh is both unpalatable and unsafe, though if that were adequately disproved I might suggest that eating the bunnies could also serve as a method of disposing of their remains.

Rabbit is quite tasty. People have been eating bunnies forever and I personally know a few people who raise bunnies for meat.

I say make yourself some bunny mittens, some ear muffs, a nice coat, eat the flesh and burn the bones.

No more bunny population problems, everyone is warm, fed and happy.

It's either that or this:

Note: Somewhat gruesome.

I live in Stockholm and they really do have a rabbit overpopulation problem here - them rabbits are everywhere!

I guess, if you can't do anything else, you can just as well use them to produce heat.

Btw, how does that have anything to do with socialism as xcited claims?

What does a shitty farmhouse in Denmark have to do with socialism? Please, do explain.
