Spotlight (Journalistic exposure of RC Church scandal in Boston)

I saw this yesterday. An absolutely outstanding film that covers a very uncomfortable pattern of activity.

Great cast, great acting, great directing.

I hope they did their homework because I think I know a lot of stuff that I didn't know before. I hope it's all well-researched and more or less accurate.

I really liked Spotlight, too. And since it's been out for about 6-7 weeks now and there's no backlash, they must've gotten more right than wrong. In any case, I'm not much of a bean-counter when it comes to "Based on a True Story" movies. "Based on" are the key words of those movies. A documentary puts the details right; a movie-movie should be more about getting the emotional intelligence of the thing right.

I figure this is the front-runner for Best Picture, although Carol seems to be up there too, now.
