Some sober truth: Who healthcare reform is truly going to help.

It doesnt help anyone. You cant help people by promising money that doesnt exist.

did we not fund the war and reconstruction in iraq with money we DID NOT HAVE, and if so....does that mean we helped NO ONE there?

Why divert the issue? You can't win a debate on a topic by changing the topic.

Passing this health care bill just put more strain on our already strained to the breaking point economy. We are on a fast train on a track that dead ends off a cliff. Passing this health care bill just ensured that even before these so called benefits kick in for the public, we'll have to either cut them out of the budget, or this country's economy WILL FAIL! Yes, we can go bankrupt, and to those who are so blindly going on and ignoring it, they are the reason we are where we're at.

There's huge trouble ahead, and it's not very far off. We won't even be able to pay the interest on the INTEREST of our debt. We are in huge trouble financially. The ONLY thing that can save us now is DRACONIAN cuts in the national budget. This was the WRONG TIME to pass another MASSIVE government expansion and entitlement program. It's nothing more than insurance that our economy - will - fail.

Well, they forced it through. Whats done is done, so, rather than bashing it, lets be honest and soberingly truthful. Here is a few examples of who healthcare reform will help, by taking the money from others:

- Remember in your suburban high school the guy that you hung around with that smoked weed all the time? And when you hit your senior year you all graduated. He stayed at home and kept going to high school parties while you went off to college and worked a part-time job to make ends meet? On summer breaks, you would see him still going out, drinking, working odd jobs, living with parents still. Then, you graduated. He was working part-time still, age 25. You worked your way up, through entry level jobs, until you landed a nice career, around age 27 or 28. Meanwhile, he finally moved out into an apt, works part-time still, has a couple simple possession arrests, can't find a job with benefits. And whines about how YOU should pay more in taxes to support his substance abuse therapy.

- Remember in your ghetto high school when you hated the gangs and violence and drugs? And rather than get caught up in that, you stayed to yourself, played sports, and graduated. The guy who always said you were a "sell out" was selling petty amounts of dope and dropped out of high school. Eventually he decided to get his GED, or maybe he didn't. You graduated and they wanted you to run the streets with them, selling dope. You didn't. Instead, you listened to that Army recruiter and enlisted. Did your 4 years honorably. You heard that back home "that guy" was arrested a few times and got out. But he was actually making more $$$ from drug dealing than you were in the Army. Oh well, not your route in life. You went back home, and used your GI Bill to go to college. Landed a good job with benefits. "That guy" now is a convicted felon, can't find work. And he wants YOU to pay his healthcare for the therapy he needs from the bullet wound he has from a previous bad drug deal altercation.

- Remember your old apartment neighbor? When things were good, he was 28, so were you. Both of you were healthy. You saved your money, paid for your own insurance, drove a used car, had an old but OK television, an old cell phone, and lived modestly. Then you got a nice job and did well. But while he was 28, he ran up huge debt on credit cards. He bought a house he couldn't afford, a car he didn't need, a boat he never used, etc, etc. Now, he's in debt, bad, and wants you to pay his healthcare costs.

- Remember driving through the ghetto and seeing everyone who owned a new SUV? And a new flat-screen TV? And wearing very expensive Ed Hardy, FUBU, Roca Wear clothing? Expensive jewelry? Remember seeing that? While living in housing that you are subsidizing? Now, you must also pay their healthcare costs.

- Remember that former coworker of yours? Yeah, you do. He was always late to work. Some mornings he smelled of alcohol. Got caught sleeping on the job a few times. Got fired. Now has liver disease and can't find a job. Yeah.....he needs some of your money.

- Remember that woman you knew that always has a Snickers, Twinky or ice cream bar in her hand? She laughed at people who worked out all the time and ate healthy saying they were "crazy" and that they needed to "live a little". Many of us told her she needed to watch her weight, but she said "I'm happy with my body" and stuffed another fried chicken leg into her mouth. When asked if she wanted to go to the gym with you, she said "No, exercise is boring I hate it" and she got fatter. Then, she changed jobs, and the new insurance she tried to get said "NO, you are too fat, have high cholesterol, diabetes and are way to expensive". Now, after all that, she wants the same people that warned her and tried to help her to pay for her mistakes. Fair, right?

I could go on and on, but this issue is about ENVY for other peoples things. People who COULD afford health insurance decided instead to buy new clothes, new cars, new homes, drugs, XBoxes, whatever. They are pissed because they see people who worked hard and earned a job or money that could provide BOTH healthcare and luxury items, and they could not. So, they decided to buy the luxury items instead, and then bitch about wanting YOU to also pay for their health costs. They decided to eat crap, never exercise and now demand others pay for their costs.

Just reality guys. This is what liberals are all about. Everyone takes a certain path in life from age 16 to about age 30 when our long-term destiny is cemented. But after that destiny is realized, the liberals want to make everyone equal again.....regardless of the good or bad decisions they made during those crucial years of laying life's foundation.

You left out..

The kid in your class who got cancer in eighth grade. The one everyone thought was going to die. When he finally won the tough fight and graduated and became a young adult, he found that nobody would offer him health insurance...Pre-existing condition

The young couple with two kids struggling to get by on $24,000 a year. The wife was injured in a fall and her medical bills reached $220,000. Since their policy had a cap of a maximum of $100,000, they are stuck paying off the remaining $120,000

Your neighbor who runs a small lawn maintenance business. He tried to get insurance on his own but found out that insurance companies charge over twice as much if you apply for a policy as an idividual instead of as a large group. He will now be able to join a large insurance pool and get low cost rates

The young kid who just graduated college and finds that no jobs are available that offer healthcare. They want him to work as a TEMP or contract employee so they are not required to pay his healthcare. He can mow be covered on his parents policy until he is 26

These are the real people being helped by the Healthcare Bill

Heres the deal.

Its the law of the land now.

Keep whining all you want but you are helpless to change it.

Your party is dying due to the fact that you and your bretheren keep insisting it appeal to fewer and fewer voters.

Your ideas failed and your point of few is not the mainstream.

HAHA!! You also would've fit in well under Communist Russia or the National Socialist Germans.

"ITS THE LAW" "YOU MUST OBEY NOW".

Is there a statue of Obama in your living room....or bedroom?

MY IDEALS are hard work,(good for you I too believe in hard work) personal responsibility,(good for you I too believe in personal responsibility) social morality (Only your definition though huh?)consistent with the church(this is a country that believes in freedom of religion so yours should never be telling others what to do or believe), fiscal conservatism(This has failed), and physical fitness(Good for you I too believe in physical fitness). Plus independence( except you want YOUR church to define it for Me too) and self-reliance(you covered this one already). THOSE ideals NEVER have failed and never will.(Yes fiscal conservatism did fail and the Bush team proved it wonderfully) In the best or worst of times, people with THOSE ideals will ALWAYS come out on top over people like you, who worship government officials and drop to your knees at the sound of a politicians demands.
(I dont whorship anything, Its you who drop to your knees)
You guys have two rude awakenings: One in November with the elections.( tell me how many seats you would have to win to have a veto proof majority?) Two when you realize this healthcare bill is not the golden goose egg that you thought would lift you all out of liberal mediocrity.(It is not the monster the right wing idiots got whipped into believing)

You have NO chance of ever repealing the health care bill.

Be insane if you wish , it wont change this fact.

You are falling into the politicians trap. They want us to fight amongst ourselves over who is benefiting, who deserves to benefit, and whom we are bailing out.

As I posted in another thread, the real winners are:

The biggest winners:

- Big Government, which will get bigger consisting of:
a) Politicians who now have more dependents to add to their voting blocs.
b) Government bureaucrats, more funding to swell their ranks.
c) Public employee unions, who extract their unearned share of taxpayer productivity.

- Mega Corporation Cronies, who will work with Big Government to divide up the tax pie, shutting off smaller competitors, and securing government guaranteed territories and profits.

- The Vestiges of ACORN, who will continue to receive Federal Funds in the effort to escort the "uninsured" (who despite their Near Death Condition, won't be insured until 2014) to the voting booths and to "instruct" them how to vote.

- Statists, those who have long wanted to replace our values and system of government which was designed to protect individual liberty and to limit government with one that enshrines power in the state and makes the individual subservient to it.

The biggest losers: every individual around the world who values his liberty and respects that of others.

http://www.usmessageboard.com/healt...are/110440-healthcare-winners-and-losers.html

because of the nazi like tactics (using lies and misrepresentations of reality) utilized by certain immoral and unethical conservatives acorn (an organization I have nothing to do with) has been essentially destroyed. ACORN affiliates are removing the name ACORN and disassociating themselves from the parent organization.

as a sane and rational person who is SOCIALLY LIBERAL, physically and militarily conservative, (and hates ALL extremists, both LEFT and RIGHT) I must say

I am pretty much in agreement with you on this issue.

I HATE this healthcare crap.

let those who WANT TO provide health care to the "underprivileged" do so at THEIR OWN EXPENSE and NOT force the rest of us to pay

That depends upon what you call help.

The politicians and their cronies are certainly helping themselves to taxpayer money. In the short run at least, they are benefiting.

how are they personally benefiting....not speculation, but facts....can you show specifically, how they are benefiting please....?

as i stand now, not certain if i agree with you....?

care

One concrete aspect is that bill includes earmarks that benefit specific politicians via payoffs to certain constituents. In return, those politicians will receive campaign donations and other support.

The larger context is what this means for our country. I posit that politicians benefit by expanding government control of our economy and lives - and from increased taxpayer money to dole out. Consider the increasingly imperial lifestyles of our elected officials. They are living high on the hog at our expense - I would call that a benefit. They certainly seem to value it as well.

If politicians didn't see themselves as benefiting from the bill - why the desperation to ram through a very unpopular bill that nobody had time to read?

care

Excluding the aforementioned, Congressional kickbacks, Care is right. The government at least in the short term is not benefiting from HRC as far as I can tell. We are not sending our dollars to Uncle Sam for them to distribute to the health insurance companies.

Later they will benefit from the fines collected from individuals who do not have insurance and the penalties on employers who decide to pay the $2000/year rather than $12000/year or more per employee in health insurance.

And most likely by the time everything is settled you will see a new payroll tax deduction to pay for this and when that happens and they start putting our health dollars along with our retirement dollars into the General fund, we're screwed, :( but for the time being, the government is not benefiting from this.

You need a doctor...for your head. You have a severe social illness, it's called hatred.

Do you remember that 25 year old guy with the souped-up car? Well, last night he wrapped it around a tree. He was rushed to the hospital, but even though he spent his money on headers instead of health insurance, he was still given medical care. He gets to keep the headers and YOU and I get to pay for his medical treatment.

And he will be burdened with a horrible credit report due to unpaid medical bills, never get to buy a home or another souped up car as a result, be in debt forever, and recieve bare minimum health care to stabilize him. A horrible price to pay for his stupid mistake.

BUT.....now, under Obamacare, there are no horrible consequences as his healthcare will be covered in full, thus, no deterrent from doing stupid shit like driving a souped up car and speeding.

So, rather than discouraged stupidity, we decide to subsidize it. Good job libs, that is really going to work out well.

care

Stupak got $750,000 bribe for his YES vote to go to 3 airports in Michigan. He then folded and voted YES. He benefits from that, as well as those airports that will donate to his campaign.

However, they won't benefit for much longer. They will suffer massive defeats in November. And the left has no clue what the conservatives are going to do when back in power. This nation WILL get repaired back to how it should be. In part thanks to the arrogance on the left that will sweep the right back into power.

The pendulum in politics swings. It swung left from Bush 1 to Clinton, then further right to Bush 2, the FAR further left to Obama, and soon a FAR FAR swing right. Can't wait.

THIS is what stupak GOT to change his vote, the executive order....according to him...

STUPAK: Well, if both sides are mad at me, I guess I did the right thing. And when you do legislation, there's always got to be a common ground. And I was able to reach it while still honoring the principle of the sanctity of life and -- and maintaining it and still passed health care. You know, the pro-life Democrats that stood with me -- courageously stood with me right up until that Sunday and we got our executive order to protect life, they're a courageous bunch of members. And I was just proud to stand with them. And we got -- both goals were accomplished.
Stupak: We protected life, health care | freep.com | Detroit Free Press

That Kool Aid doesn't have enough sugar. An executive order DOES NOT trump law passed by the legislative branch. IF an order by the executive branch can trump laws made by the legislative branch, isn't that then a dictatorship? Why even have a Congress? Just let Obama executive order all government action, right?

Oh, btw, he did in fact recieve the $750,000 federal $$$ immediately after switching his vote. Down South, we call that good ole boy political bribery. The abortion stance was just cover for the time to negotiate the bribe.

I agree tragic stuff happens. It is IMPOSSIBLE for the government to legislate out all pain and suffering in human life. Our government just doesn't have the money or ability to do that. Out of 300,000,000 people, there are going to be sad stories. Government, nor anyone else, can't stop that. It is sad, but thank God the free market health care industry in America has advanced medicine so far, in part due to large profits, that they can save many lives that would otherwise be lost. That money for research and development will now vanish.

Second, if liberals would get on board with sealing the border and deporting illegals, we'd save billions on ER treatment for runny noses. There is a reason 1 aspirin costs you and I $40.....because of how many they have to give away free.

That 26 year old could join the military. Or Fire Dept. Or Police Dept. All are in need of more employees, ALL are hiring, all offer health insurance. Todays 22 year olds must realize they aren't gonna get their dream job right out of college. The entitlement mentality of this generation is insanity.

And last but not least, there is a reason I believe in conservative values. If me and my wife made <$24,000 a year as you said, WE WOULD NOT HAVE HAD TWO KIDS WE CANNOT AFFORD. We would, and do, exercise vigorously.....so if we suffer a slip and fall at home, our bodies are in stronger health and likely to suffer less if any injury.

Oh, and the libs forgot to add tort reform. Guess they need as many victims as possible to maintain dependency though.

Government is not the answer to this problem. Exercise, nutrition, personal responsibility, and a sealed border are. -

Are you an adolescent, or just at an adolescent level of intelligence?

Go to your room...:lol::lol::lol:

Two points:

1- I don't care if it is repealed or not. The libs passed The New Deal. The libs passed Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Welfare, Obamacare, blah blah blah. The libs have decades of liberal legislation, yet, resourceful conservatives continue to out-pace them in the game of life. We are richer, happier, have hotter women and better dogs. We always win.....despite whatever government system you guys throw out in an effort to equalize us with your mediocrity. Under this new system, we will still find ways to beat you in life.

2- You said fiscal conservatism always failed. You said it was proven a failure under Bush. Bush wasn't a fiscal conservative. He blew money ALMOST as bad as Obama did. Good on cutting taxes. Bad on blowing money while he did it. Fiscal conservatism, in my words, is on the PERSONAL level. See, you as a liberal immediately jumped to the government scope, because you guys love government with all your hearts. I'm speaking of persons. Individual fiscal conservatism. Pay off your debt. Live within your means. SAVE money. Be smart with your purchases. Think ahead. THAT never fails. And it should be practiced by the individual, the local politician, the state politician, and yes, the feds. And in that order. Liberals should buy into that philosophy I laid out for you. You guys look for answers to your ills from a top-down approach. "What can the gov't do to help me??". I, like most conservatives, look at it as "What can I do to help myself".

Thats why conservatives will always out-pace liberals in life. We fix ourselves first, under any system. You, on the other hand, join your liberal peers in waiting for the government to solve your problems. All while we have found individual paths to fix our problems, make more money, land the better job, and yes, buy a much cooler dog to impress the hotter lady:lol:
